Lucy performed another original last night on XF and i thought it was such a lovely song. While Last Night was about getting over a hungover, this is a sad song about a couple.

What do people think?

I think she is truly terrific songwriter. Has that slight Lily Allen vibe to her with a bit of Kate Nash.

I'm slightly confused as to what she feels that she can gain from the XF. I dread to think what they're gonna make her sing on Power Ballad week. My only thought is that maybe she's been trying on her own for years and hasn't made it...The X Factor has god knows how many millions of viewers week in week out so in terms of publicity it's great.

The best thing that could happen for her is to not get through to the live shows but she probably will because everybody's talking about her but even then she's screwed because she'll be under contract, right?

I think her and her crappy little songs are dreadful. she's got no charm, she can't sing and she doesn't have the x factor - what she's even doing there is beyond me - what will she do on Michael Jackson week?!

She's awful and already suffers from an inflated ego.

Her Kate Nash/Ed Sheeran/Victoria Wood shtick was dire. Mind you, XF this year (the little I've watched of it) has been full of p***-poor acts.

I saw her live a few weeks ago (not on purpose) and after a couple of songs i'd had more than enough. A novelty act at best.

I feel sorry for her. The X Factor are trying to claw back credibility (not that it ever really had any) by putting so much focus on someone who can play an instrument and writes their own material. They have no intention of making her a star.

Some random version of it is lurking on iTunes.

I don't get how these people get away with covering songs before they are released, and realasing them before they are released?

Surely some kind of legal thing there???

i really don't understand how they're gonna make her work on live shows - unless they let her perform her own songs which will be massively unfair, there's no way she's gonna work. she hasn't the voice to cover any old song, and i'm not sure why she's allowing herself to be used like this if she is as serious about it as she says.

this is, of course, if she progresses to the live shows. i hope she doesnt.

There's something really endearing about her I think, but The X-Factor just isn't the right show. Imagine Big Band Week or Abba/Disco.. it's just not gonna work.

I actually can't stand her. She's far too aloof for me, XF couldn't be a show more wrong for her, and I don't think she's as original as people make out. Kate Nash, anyone?

She's so unoriginal. I liked her audition but she's a one-trick pony. When she had to sing in a group she was awful. I can't wait for Abba week.

Also the title 'Tea and Toast' sounds like something Kate Nash would release. Then she sings and steals Kate's graft.

I can't stand her. Her performance of Moves Like Jagger was embarrassing. She looked like she thought she was above it all and she can't sing to save her life. And I hate seeing her mentioned alongside Lily Allen and Kate Nash. At least they're both (Lily particularly) attractive, have pleasant singing voices and have an ear for a good pop song.

I agree so much with the poster who described her as charmless, unfortunately.

What Will She Do On Any Week?? There is no theme for her except ( and I say this tongue in cheek) Comedy? If I was her I would back out now and let a singer take her place.

I just can't understand why she's gone on XF and not BGT. BGT would be a walk in the park for her. XF is possibly going to do her more harm than good.

She sang Titanium, We Are Young, Young, a pink song and other songs in bootcamp - its on youtube. She proved she could sing. They edited it out though, and only showed Tulisa asking her, after receiving a standing ovation from judges and crowd, for a second, original, song.

A lively, acoustic "T' Power O' Luv", with her own comedy verses.

She's nicked a lyric from Not Nineteen Forever.
