Steps New Album and Tour
Steps are to release a xmas themed album entitled "Light Up The World" to be released on November 12th and embark on 6 date UK tour.
STEPS, who sung their way to success in the 90s along with their dance routines and catchy lyrics, are reuniting for a 6 date mini UK city-centre tour in December 2012. Steps will begin this festive jaunt at the Plymouth Pavilion on Friday 30th November and play in the prestigious London Palladium on Sunday 2nd December finishing up on Wednesday 5th December at Wolverhampton Civic Hall. The tour will give fans a great opportunity to see their favourite pop group in such intimate theatres. Steps will be performing some new festive flavoured songs, some hits that they didn’t perform on their sold out UK Arena tour earlier in the year, as well as some of their most popular crowd pleasers. Steps are also pleased to announce the release of ‘LIGHT UP THE WORLD’, a fantastic collection of winter themed tracks perfect for Christmas – their first release on their own Steps Recordings/Warner Music Artist & Label Services, and their first collection of new recordings for over 10 years. The album is available to pre-order alongside tickets for the tour and will appear on the usual online outlets for pre-order shortly. The album will be released on Monday 12th November 2012. November 2012 Friday 30th – Plymouth Pavilion December 2012 Saturday 1st December – Sheffield City Hall, Sheffield Sunday 2nd December –The London Palladium, London Monday 3rd December – O2 Apollo, Manchester Tuesday 4th December – Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow Wednesday 5th December – Wolves Civic, Wolverhampton |

so it's official then? I was reading the other day about the fact that they were back in the studio. This album WILL be atrocious but all they need is one good track to tide them over and so I hope they manage to pull it out of the bag, otherwise it'll be game over.

Seemingly Light Up The World is gonna be the new single from the album too and it's an original track.
Bad organisation in the tour announcement though I feel. Just 6 dates, quite expensive for a theatre tour and not that much notice for fans who need to arrange cheap travel. I'm not going to this one though, not really worth it. |

Oh Steps. What are you doing.
There is absolutely no way I will pay that price for tickets to see Steps. The fact the album is on their own label(ish) is terrifying. Please don't let them ruin the memories and the good fan feelings. |

God imagine it, they covered that back in 2000 for some other compilation album and that was bad enough.
Own label-ish release is a risk though. I think the tour coulda been better organised. This tour rumour has been around a while, would've been in theirs and the fans best interests to have announced this a lot sooner. I think this will be a very stripped back show, hope for the money it's costing fans (to cover for the fact they're playing to far fewer fans) they at least give them a live band with properly live vocals. No backing track but if needs be backing singers on stage behind them. |

no way!! LOL, I was trying to think of an example of just how cheesy this band could potentially get left to their own devices but it seems they pipped me to the post. ![]() I personally don't think releasing stuff via their own record label is a problem tbh, as long as they've got a good manager behind them. I'm rather quite looking forward to this now. Last year Kate Bush, this year Steps - this time of year just seems to bring out the oldies

Management seem ok, only problem is they're not using social networking very well, too much teasing & then we find out what they're doing before its announced.
I'm hoping this song is original cos a song called Light Up The World appeared on a Tweenies album.... |

Nov 12th Think that is the same date as One Direction so they have no chance of a number one album

I'm possibly being too cynical but this seems like a very desperate move on Steps' part. The original reunion tour made sense but now I think they're just out to make as much money from their fans as possible. Something about this seems fake and needy to me.

I have a feeling this may be a big seller. Kids are gonna love it. So will the original steps fans. Xmas albums are usually big sellers.

I am SUPER excited about the news
![]() I'm thinking really hard about seeing them at the London Palladium. But the thing is I have no-one to go with!! Tickets are £55 so no-one will want to come with me. It is bloody expensive!!

Might buy the cd, but don't think I will go to see them again. I went in April, and my left ear still hasn't recovered, probably never will.............

I think I will give it a miss. Even though I can afford £55 I just think it's way too much for just one band...
