Now we are nearing the live shows lots of people are talking about how this years final 24 compare with previous years. So I thought it would be interesting to look back at what people think were the best performances from each season.
Here are my picks:

Season 1: G4 - Creep (Hard to choose. Nobody very good)
Season 2: Shayne Ward - Somewhere Over The Rainbow
Season 3: Leona Lewis - I Will Always Love You
Season 4: Nicki Evans - Fields of Gold (Bad season, hard to pick)
Season 5: Ruth Lorenzo - Purple Rain (So many amazing performances this season - R/U Diana Vickers - With or Without You, Laura White - God Bless The Child, Alexandra &Beyonce - Listen)
Season 6: Joe McElderry - Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word (R/U Danyl Johnson - I Didnt Know My Own Strength, Rachel Adedji - Nobody Knows)
Season 7: Aiden Grimshaw - Mad World (Again a storng season R/U Aiden Grimshaw - Thriller/Nothing Compares 2 U, Matt Cardle - First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, Rebecca Ferguson - Feelin Good)
Season 8: Misha B - Rolling In The Deep

What are your picks???

Ruth Lorenzo's Purple Rain is the standout performance in the history of XF, imo.

Purple Rain was the only reality TV performance that's ever gave me goosebumps. One minute she was "just that Spanish girl" who was obvious fodder and nobody cared about, and the next she was this huge rock chick who was the underdog of the show and had developed a massive fanbase over the space of one song.

G4...most of their LIVE performances, plus songs off their 3 albums to boot!!

Brenda/Maria's songs and shayne's Over the Rainbow!!

Leona a moment like this (only song I really remember from her year)!!

Rydian....all of his songs, particularly 'go west'!!

Ruth songs mostly and Alex's Hallelujah!!

Olly....his 'tina turner' song/Robbie duet made him a winner in my eyes

Cher's audition song, wagner she bangs, and MaTT's FTEISYF (think those are the initials for it!!

Amelia's SMGO and ALL of Misha B songs(sing off songs too)...except for the fugees track!!
