Will this render websites that play Flash, redundant on my Note? If so, I won't be 'up' grading.

4.1 is much nicer than 4.0. The upgrade is worth it. If you need Flash then it works with Firebox Beta. This is what I use on my GNexus, although I seldom use it. I will be interested to see what JB looks like on the GNote when I upgrade it. I bet it is still full of TouchWiz crap, still my wife likes it.

I am surprised to see the Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 is going to be upgraded to Jelly Bean.
That will be a big plus for this phone as there is a lot of compation in this sector of the mobile phone market with the likes of the HTC Desire C and Huawei Ascend Y201 running Ice Cream Sandwitch out of the box. It will be interesting to how the Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 runs and proforms when it is upgraded to Jelly Bean. And it will also be interesting to see how well the Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 sells when it is upgraded to Jelly Bean as I think this could be the cheapest mobile phone on the market at lest in ne UK to run Jelly Bean. |

Thanks for the replies re Flash playback. Not really interested in mucking around with other browsers - quite like the stock one on my Note. Will see how others fare with JB, before taking the plunge. Can someone confirm though, would YouTube, BBC IPlayer and BBC News, Sky News and Sky Go via the standard apps off Google Play, all play with JB running. Am I right in that they use HTML5?

Sky News, bbc news are fine. Sky go and I player both awaiting release of jb compatible version. I player expected in days, no one knows about sky go. Iplayer will run fine if you sideload it right now, but sky go has some tricks in it to stop this working.
Oh and youtube works out the box.

My S3 is with T-Mobile... I won't hold my breath. I'm happy to wait for the official upgrade though rather than flash an alternative ROM. I can get that practice on the wife's S2

Anyone got some info if the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be updated to JB? (not Tab 2, but the original one)
Just had ICS upgraded on mine in the last week (I have a Singapore Tab so it took a while for the update to come out) and its much nicer than Honeycomb. |

pretty sure it won't now the list has been announced. A couple of sites are noting its absence.

the big difference IMHO is something called Project Butter.
http://pocketnow.com/2012/06/27/what...ts-so-awesome/ Its the result of an undertaking to speed up and optimise Android. There's also the rather nifty Google Now, which shows you info before you ask for it, like buses at the bus stop you're waiting at, or your favourite team's scores, or delays to your journey to work. It doesn't ask where or when you go to work, it just figures it out for itself after a few days. http://www.google.com/landing/now/ The voice typing is much better as well, it isn't so much 'say a sentence' 'processing' 'words appear on screen', but actually show up as you say each word. (works offline too) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqFeMLU1Zis There are a few other tweaks as well, and apparently also some extra Touchwiz features included in the update. |
