I'm actually going to wait for Alibi to start showing S5 and go back to UK Pace now it's in HD, and also because we'll likely get it without breaks, but after the way S4 ended, I had to at least watch the first episode of S5

And it was very good. They handled their get-together very well I thought. Mainly, I suppose, by not actually mentioning it that much !

Beckett's mother's murder was "solved" as well. Sort of.

I suppose time will tell how they handle their relationship overall, but I think the progression of the mother's murder case is quite good and certainly makes it interesting again.

Right, back to UK pace I go, so if you're going to watch at US pace than have at it

There is absolutely no way I could wait for Alibi to show season 5 so I have a season pass on iTunes. Best money spent for a long time. The show is amazing and giving nothing away a joy to watch.

Fantastic Castle episode this week for fans of Firefly - it was just chock-full of references to Whedon's masterpiece as well as other sci-fi shows. And directed by Jonathan Frakes too. Shiny!

"I'm a fan of good sci-fi. Star Trek, Battlestar, that Joss Whedon show..."

Shiny indeed! Nice cameo by Jonathan Frakes at the start too! Loved all the references to Sci-fi in general

It's a nice nod to the fact that a number of Castle's fanbase inluding me started watching because of Nathan Fillion.

Yeah, great ep. Loved all the references, and the appearances from Frakes and Shimerman.

I had to rewatch it to get a lot of the references. I blinked and missed Frakes and I didn't even recognise Shimerman at first.

You can buy a season pass on iTunes - costs about 35 for the whole season and that's in HD. Well worth it as far as I'm concerned. I did the same for season 4.

Season 5 Episode 19 was apparently the 100th episode (or 100th case solved or something).

Must confess I didn't guess the ending. On reflection and in retrospect there are lots of flaws in the storyline, but just enjoying the ride with some willing suspension of disbelief I must say it was yet another good episode.

Nice to see Ryan get some spotlight last week. Sometimes I feel he is a bit overshadowed by Espo.

This show was pretty good in Season 1, got really strong in Season 2 and is still top notch now.

Really enjoyed that one - and I didn't see the twist coming. I usually prefer the lighter episodes such as this one. The show just seems to be better when they are playing it tongue-in-cheek rather than straight.

I'm looking forward to the next episode (it airs in 2 weeks). It's going to be a FUN one involving the Bigfoot phenomenon. And knowing Castle - his overactive imagination will get him in trouble.

The promo for that episode is here: LINK

The Bigfoot episode was a goodie. Enjoyed the scene with the gorilla. Perlmutter is good. I think the funniest thing was that the "suspect" in the woods was wearing a giant pair of handcuffs while being questioned. Where did they come from?

I never thought a flashback episode could be so enjoyable! The latest episode was just wonderful. I couldn't stop smiling by the end of it!

I have to say, I haven't been as captivated with this season as much as the previous seasons but this episode made me remember why I fell in love with the show. I really liked how they used the clips by way of Castle/Beckett banter, which I have especially missed this season. .

And it took me a while, but I love Captain Gates!

Yes I'm not keen on clip shows, but they did it in an engaging way.

Loved the outfit clips and the kisses clips.

Which episode is that?
On Alibi last night was "Swan Song" which wasn't a particularly good episode.

The season finale was pretty good. Having completed 5 seasons this show is as strong as ever. I like the new tech girlie character. Alternative love interest for Espo? Looking forward to the start of season 6 probably in late September.

No it doesn't. It starts on 23rd September.

Sounds as though it will be a bit different with Lisa Edelstein in the first few shows working with Kate.

Its a pity some fool released papped bts scenes for episode 1. Spoils the suspense for everyone.

Having watched the last 4 eps last night, this basically gives away the fact that she'll turn down the proposal and take the job. I actually don't mind that in a sense though, because if she accepts then it surely goes against everything her character is ?.

So i suspect she'll spend a few episodes working in DC and they'll both be pining for each other. What i'd like to see actually is Castle sticking around and still working cases with Ryan and Esposito though, that would be a nice twist.

It'll be interesting to see how they get them back together though. And it'll be interesting to see how the address the cliffhanger as well - I have a feeling that we'll pick things up a few months later and we'll have some ambiguous shots of Kate before it's revealed she's in DC.
