I know the album sales are at a mega low now.but seriously thought she could pull off more she's easily apart from Kate Middleton the most talked about female in press/media terms...and lots of positive exposure. 900k and 500k bought her previous albums, why havent they come back for more...2 impeccable singles too so...

I think she re-release for Christmas and perform on X Factor otherwise this would be lucky to break 200k, i thought she'd break platinum easily.

Lack of exposure to be honest. Remember, this is her first album out of three without XF promo.

Correct me if i am wrong, but the only promo she has done was her stint on The Voice. She didn't do any festivals this summer which is the best time of the year to showcase your music and remind people you have an album out.

Lack of exposure? Seriously?!?!

She was in every single newspaper, every single day, there is no way you couldn't know she had an album out!!

I think people have seen through the veneer and aren't impressed. She was never going to have a long successful solo career.

How the hell did her second album sell that many ? It's appalling!
I have to say a million lights is pretty good though, I'm surprised its flopped in such a manner.

I don't think you can blame the climate or the time of year to be honest, if it's an album from a popular and a wanted artist it will be bought.
Obviously it's her younger fans who are still downloading her singles, but her older fans don't seem to be forking out for her album.

I'm surprised her previous album sold so much!! It's not that bad, but she only had one big hit from the album.

The X Factor (and a performance), her break up with Ashley Cole, her MASSIVE media coverage sold the first album as well as a few other high profile performances.

The Factor (and a performance), a royal variety performance and again MASSIVE media coverage sold her second album. Plus fans of the first one would have purchased this one to.

This one has had high profile performances on TV (Nothing as big as The X Factor but she's performed on popular shows), MASSIVE media coverage again. Yes she should of sold more, anything under 100k is abysmal for her. Paloma Faith is near 200k and she only had #7, #51 and #66 hit under her belt from this album and she doesn't exactly get much coverage in the papers. No one cares about Cheryl Cole anymore.

Music wise i meant

Being snapped by a paparazzi all the time and being a regular fixture in trashy magazine hardly make people think "ill buy her album".

It's all part and parcel of keeping in the public eye. Performing at the Jubilee, hair adverts, mags, Jonathan Ross, Styled to Rock programme last night...it's all for one purpose, to keep her in the public eye...to sell records. But....it hasn't worked.

People have just lost interest in her musically, all the huge media in the past helped sell her albums and x factor did alot for her, now her whole marriage split is old news and she isnt doing x factor she in terms of albums is forgotten. I think people are seeing through her, also i think some people are seeing it wasnt all Nadine that caused Girls Aloud to be a part for so long and i believe fans are tired of cheryls constant miming. 84,000 is a terrible outcome for cheryl, and like someone posted Paloma Faith has sold far more copies with nu hype or media coverage, this just shows if people genuinly take to songs they will transform that like into an album sale and cheryl has failed on this part.

The figures are bad compared to her other albums, but compared to other albums sales from this year they aren't that bad.

I know right! It was so unfair that Nadine got made out to be the black witch of the group when the others were just as much to blame.

When she was releasing her first two albums she had Simon Cowell sitting next to her every saturday telling the public what a superstar she was. For whatever reason, they believed him.

Without Simon she had to convince people of this herself using her music, and that's where she fell flat. It reminds a bit of when Victoria Beckham released her solo album. The public never took her seriously as a singer and the sales proved it, so she moved onto other things. Maybe Cheryl will do the same?

The reason why Cheryl Cole's album has done crap is because the album is crap, she can't sing to save her life.

People like will.i.am only work with her because they think she's fit.

I think it's so said that some people would rather listen to Cheryl then people like P!nk someone who's amazing singing live, plus her new album is amazing.

In 20 years time people are still going to listen too P!nk but not Cheryl.

Will.I.Am is also to blame for her fall IMO.
He has done nothing but bang on about her and America and this is alienating UK fans especially after her ditching UK XFactor for the US version.
