Only the web version via Safari.

I like my google maps app and I am quite happy with my present iOS, are there any big benefits to me upgrading?
Sorry if it's a daft question but when I look these things up it gets a bit too technical.

I don't plan to "upgrade" at present! IOS 6 gives no decent mapping and no YouTube. One of its other supposed major features ("better integration with Facebook and Twitter") also sounds to be something that I don't want either!

It depends what's important to you.

I never use YouTube so don't give a fig that it's gone plus for the use I make of maps, one is as good as another. However, I am liking the way that it's easier to incorporate photos or website links straight into messages or emails or direct to Facebook. That to me is much more important.

Also I love "Do Not Distrub" because when i'm watching live streaming via SkyGo or iPlayer I don't get disturbed by messages. I can deal with those on my iPhone.

There are a few nice to have updates - photo uploading in the browser, "Do not disturb", photo attachments in emails and the Facebook integration (more of a big deal on phones really).

But they're not worth losing Google Maps over given how awful Apple Maps is.

I think I'll stick with what I have.
I'm quite happy with what I have and none of the other features are things I need.
Thanks.

Give it some months and then decide.

I'm certainly delaying considering updating to WIndows 8 until nearer the deadline for the update.

Windows 7 support isn't due to end until 14-Jan-20, so there's no rush. http://support.microsoft.com/lifecyc...lpha=Windows+7

I certainly am not updating Windows 7.
It is the XP machines.

At least one will stay as it is. One or some might become Linux.

My local Indian takeaway is in a field next to our village, and it has a mini supermarket that been closed over 6 years, wish I never upgraded.

Google Maps is including StreetView into the mobile web version in the next 2 weeks. I've just added a quick link from my desktop to Google maps (via safari) and the whole problem is solved (I've done the same with You Tube).

Not totally fixed because however good the mobile web page version gets, it's not properly integrated into the OS. So tapping on addresses in other apps will continue to open the useless Apple Maps.

A small point admittedly but nevertheless important.

Apple have now issued an apology regarding their maps and have advised users to place a shortcut to the likes of google maps on their desktop.

I actually regret upgrading to iOS 6.

I've had that much trouble since "upgrading" I could kick myself.

Maps is a disaster... we all know that. Even though my phone is set to UK English there are now a lot of Americanisms (i.e gray instead of grey.)

I deleted a couple of cities from the Weather app... I go back in-and they are there again.

They may have apologised but they have not changed their policy on "no downgrades" - if they simply restarted signing IOS 5.1.1 people who did not like IOS 6 could revert to 5.1.1
