Would I rather he dumped Ste and found happiness with someone he's comfortable with? Of course I would. But I still love the character, I can't just abandon him now because he's behaving in a way I find uncomfortable. It hasn't stopped me thus far with Brendan

Absolutely: he might tell him he murdered Mick but then Ste would find out about it . It will be so interesting to see what Walker says to the gang and Declan at the climax to the Walker storyline. He will definitely say a few things Brendan would rather the others did not hear.

It can't be too bad though because Ste points the finger at Doug.

I honestly don't think he will give Declan an overdose but I think he might try and manoeuvre Brendan into killing him thus getting him sent to prison.

The thing is with Doug is that his insecurity is coming across as controlling, and possessive, and generally just really creepy.

I dunno if it's meant to be like that or whether it's just PJ playing it like that, but it doesn't really go with the "Aww poor Doug" thing, nor the "Healthy relationship" thing.

And to me, it's just like, oh you say Ste can't be with Brendan cos Brendan tried control Ste (since that was what it turned into fairly recently) have you seen what Doug is doing you bunch of hypocrites.

I've got to the point where I want to smack him every time I see his puppy face/smug face. And I'm not even joking, I seriously want to smack him. And I'm aware that he's a fictional character

The fact that Stug fans are defending him and refuse to admit that he's treating Ste like a dog and is generally acting like a stroppy child says it all, really.
Look, I don't want you to say that he's the Devil's progeny, 'cause he isn't. Just... admit when he makes mistakes, okay? It's not that hard.

Oh I know. I do feel sorry for Doug because he's driving himself mental with this paranoia, and insecurity, and it isn't healthy for either of them.

It's why the show just really bums me out, because they act like they're a great couple and they're not. They make each other miserable, Doug clearly doesn't trust Ste, and he shouldn't really be in a relationship until he's figured out what he wants, who he is, learned to overcome his insecurities and jealousy issues.

I mean we obviously know it's not healthy, but the show are just so .. gah, forceful of it. That we're meant to buy into it, when it's plain as day (even to Stug fans, so that's saying something) that they shouldn't be together anymore. The novelty has worn off, it's over.


ETA: And Ste shouldn't be in a relationship because he clearly needs to be single for a little bit. He needs to get over this fear of being so alone, and without someone, and realise he's one hot bitch and he can have whoever he wants.
