VCR problem
New VCR, New TV, VCR is connected to the TV via a special scart lead that allows download of TV programmes to the VCR without tuning it in, anyway when recording, the recorded picture jumps intermittantly and sometimes the screen goes completely black, its like the tracking is out, yet other times the picture can be perfect, I've tried adjusting the tracking to no avail, I feel its something to do with the signal through the TV to the VCR, but not really sure, any techies out there throw some light on this, its driving me crazy, have tried different lead configurations and different leads, help.

This is not a 'special' scart lead but a 'special' signal sent between the TV and the VCR.
I have the same on my Panny TV and VCR but dont use it! If these are the only devices you have just set up the following: VCR in/out scart -----> TV AV1 External aerial ---> VCR RF in VCR RF out ---> TV RF in. Let the TV and the VCR go through their auto-tune set ups independently of each other and forget all about having the devices 'logically' joined. When you press play on the VCR the signal will override the TV signal, when you press stop it will revert to TV. You can record one analogue channel on the VCR while watching a different one on the TV. Rgds, Scorp. |
