Pretty sure the answer is no. But in any case America has every nationality and people from different States can be polar opposites. BBUS casting is pretty closed as well. Evidently only Ian and Frank auditioned. The rest were "recruited".

I think it would be really interesting if they had a series with like a couple of foreign players aswell. As one of there usual twists!!! But in a normal series, it wouldnt work!!!
If BB is anything like Survivor, US citizens only can be on the show, you can't even have dual citizenship. Todd, Survivor winner said that producers freaked out when they found out he had dual US/Canada citizenship and he was told to give up his Canadian citizenship or he wouldn't get the million dollar prize.

They do allow them to apply though - we've had contestants from America, Italy, Australia, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Brazil, Portugal, India, Pakistan and Iran in our main series, whereas I don't think the US show has had anyone that doesn't come from the US.

Big Brother 6 had Kaysar, who was from Iraq but was a US citizen. You have to be a US citizen to get on the show.

Seriously? Thats ridiculous and really sad imo.
Well, everyone knows my sentiments on the matter, lol. Since series 5, my girlfrend and I always jokingly contemplate creating an e-petition. 
It would be brilliant to havemabe a twist where international contestants could be placed into a team against the traditional US citizens for the first few weeks, only for the teams to be dissolved a few weeks later, leaving for both teams to either stay pitted against each other or begin working with each other (faintly comparable to the Coach's Twist in Season 14).
I mean, but when you think about it, having twists where there's long lost relatives, identical twins posing as one, secret partners and fathers and daughters, I don't think it's too much of a stretch to maybe consider an international twist?

All of them held a British passport, even if they were born overseas, so the rules are exactly the same.
The UK show's a lot more concerned with diversity so they'll always pick a wider range of nationalities than the strategy-based US one - but they still need to be legal citizens.
It is so hard for me to understand all these legal issues. Can people from other nationalities not get a visa to appear in the US version?

Technically, yes, but it would open up a huge number of issues for them when it comes to taxation of the prize funds and stipend, which no production company would be crazy enough to want to deal with, when there are millions of US people who could be on the show. Not to mention the obvious difficulties of auditioning people from other countries.

According to Todd, yes. And this was after he had been voted the winner, but before the season was aired on TV. There are some interesting implications if BB has the same casting rules, which I believe they do because both shows have the same casting team. More than once a BBUS HG has said they originally applied for Survivor only to be picked for BB instead. Interestingly enough, shortly after season 8, Dick gained Irish citizenship in addition to American. Then he shows up on season 13, but never appears on the live feed and walks from the show due to some unexplained personal reason. A possibility is he was informed his citizenship status violated the legal eligibility rules and he, rightfully, declined to give up his dual citizenship in order to continue with the show.
