Highly Recommended
Having a browse on Amazon last week, decided to treat myself to some new CD-s and decided to take a chance on two bands I had read good reviews about but never really heard.
I bought ' ASLEEP AT THE BACK" by ELBOW and "LOSS' by MULL HISTORICAL SOCIETY. Both absolutely fantastic and highly recommended- Elbow is a little similar to Coldplay while MHS is very quirky pop with great lyrics. I also bought a magnificent CD by a US band called NICKEL CREEK- NICKEL CREEK- believe me - they are going to be huge this year ,its the best new music I've heard for ages. Nice to see that that there is life beyond the turgid Top 40 - I've just had my eyes closed for too long. I have made it a resolution to buy a new CD by an unfamiliar band or artist every couple of weeks, so any recommendations by the more discerning posters would be gratefully received .I like all sorts of music except extreme techno, rap and heavy rock |

I bought the elbow album just before xmas. I found it very simaler to Pink Floyd in certain ways - the dragged out keyboard chords etc.
A good album though. My favourite song is Powder Blue. |
