Sony Ericsson K700i
Anyone got one or know if they are great/good/ok/crap?
I'm between it and a Nokia 6260. |

I've got it. It's fantastic. BlueTooth, Mp3 player, radio, picture/video, large clear screen, it's small and looks great and there's a cool feature in the camera mode which allows you to take panoramic pictures. (Here's one I took: http://img129.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img1...icture22gz.jpg)
And you get a cool hands free kit with it I'm really happy with it and would definitly recommend.

It is fantastic, and still relatively new as only a small few people have them.
Also has Sony Ericsson's fantastic UI which is now even easier to use. Everything about the phone kisses your ass too. I love it. |

IR-ing files to K700
Just switch on IR on your phone, and send the mp3 from your PC to your phone. How you do that depends on your IR on your PC.
As you start the send, the phone may ask you to 'accept' the file, and once reveived the mp3 will be filed in the music folder on the phone. Don't be surprised if this takes a while as IR is slow. Bluetooth is a little quicker and USB Bluetooth dongles cost about £15 or less now. Anyone looking for themes, games etc for their K700 i'd highly recommend looking for the 'Mobile9' website, loads of stuff for your phone there |

Depends what you want from a phone really. I personally hate any phone which involves flipping/opening/sliding something to use it. K500i: The K700i for cheapskates and java game lovers. K700i: Perfect allrounder S700i: For the person that wants to carry a Digital Camera and a phone all the time. They're all good

128Kbps would be the best all-round quality, but you'd only get about 10 songs on the phone. 64Kbps is probably the best quality/size ratio you'll get. |

personally i use this: http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=HBM-30 yes it means two things to carry, no you can't use the radio, but you can listen to music without the phone, you can upgrade the memory of the player, and answer the phone with it (its a bluetooth handsfree kit too). |

Is the K700i better than the Nokia 6230? ie the camera & sound quality, camera on the 6230 not brilliant (no proper zoom), radio very good

I have the Sony, my mate has the Nokia. I prefer the Sony (bigger screen, better UI, better Bluetooth, better sound)
The Nokia takes better pictures in dim light (less noisy) although the Sony has a light which helps. |

Can you 'Zoom' with the digital camera on the k700i? On the back of the phone it says 4x digital zoom but when taking photos there dosnt seem to be anyway to zoom. When using the video camera i can zoom once (4xzoom? not sure).
