Season 6 begins tonight in the US, as you may already know.

I saw there was another thread already, but that one was wide open with an entire rundown of the fourth episode. I don't personally feel that sitcoms need much in the way of spoilers anyway (unless they are crucial to story arcs), but I certainly don't want to be inadvertently exposed to entire episode summaries weeks before they've aired.

As always, the aim with my threads is that by following a few simple steps, both spoiler-heads and spoiler-phobes can co-exist within the same thread.

To that end, it's quite simple: Once it has aired in the US, it's fair game for discussion. Any talk relating to unaired episodes (including promos) should be held within spoiler tags. Theories and speculation are perfectly fine, but please don't blatantly post anything that will spoil it for others

Not a bad opener, Sheldon's touching moment with Amy was great! I'm not sure how much I'm going to like what's clearly coming with Raj and Stuart though.

I don't think it will be more than a close friendship, Raj replacing Howard with Stuart, now that he's married, with the occasional really annoying "men can't be close friends without being gay" jokes.

If they do go the other way, the only thing that would bother me about it is that it would be clearly have been forced upon them by CBS, due to their failing miserably in the GLAAD report, the same cynical reason that Partners was commissioned for (which I so wanted to love but is sadly disappointing.)

As for the episode, it was ok, carrying on the trend of decent but not outstanding episodes from last year, but sadly Sheldon has finally gone over the line of being completely frustrating which he has been threatening to for the past few seasons. I think I'm going to wait until it's shown on e4, I only acquired this episode out of habit.

I thought the episode was ok, i think Raj and Stuart may either become the new Rajward or become a couple, when Howard returns from space the whole gang will be together and I'll probably enjoy it more. I have to say I didnt really laugh at this ep, though i think it will get better.

Good call, my thanks for that.

I quite liked the season premiere but felt it was a bit disjointed in that we last saw the three couples holding hands but now they're immediately at each other's throats.

Those weightless-in-space scenes were briliiant. I have a theory about how they were done so well but why spoil the magic?

I can see stuart become the new howard, can't see them becoming a couple.

Sheldon taking the next step was excellent.

And yes the weightless scenes were very well done.

Didn't think much of the first episode. Only part i thought was funny was when raj was shouting at penny to tell leonard she loved him

For some strange reason i am thinking they might kill Howard off and replace him with Stuart think it could make an interesting development although maybe a bit extreme for TBBT! Has it been announced if he makes it back to earth in future episodes yet hope they don't have him in space all season!

i did read that theyre going to have more apperances by stewart but i dount they would kill howard off to make way for him or keep him in space all season.

i suppose well have to wait and see how it unfolds

I must admit the thought also occured to me at the end of last season.

One way or another I can't see the Howard/Bernadette relationship continuing.

Also I get the feeling actor Simon Helberg is looking to break away from being typecast as the Howard character.

I believe he's only in space for the first 3/4 episodes & he does come back. Stuart has been made a season 'regular' so there will be more of him this year.

I liked the episode, wasn't that funny though. At least it didn't revert to awkward comedy (where writers just make things as awkward as possible, avoiding the need for jokes). I'm a Stewart fan, and I'm happy to see him as a season regular,

I watch it on a PC after downloading it in HD. There are sites where you catch watch it as a streaming video but not in such high quality. As far as I know Digital Spy does not allow linking to illegal websites or discussion of how to do it. Google is your friend

I watched it, was still great, but probably the weakest season opener I'm sure next week will be better

I wish they would decide to make Raj gay or not. Men can't be friends without being gay bit is annoying.

Also not keen on Amy and Sheldon's "relationship". Really dislike the way Amy dresses.

Much better this week, but I'm beginning to find Penny's hot/cold attitude towards Leonard a bit tedious...

Stuart Bloom has officially become the Meg Griffin of TBBT. Seriously, how much more misery can one guy take before he ends it all? His "please don't ruin this for me" was actually quite sad.

Also, I'm actually finding Space Howard with facial hair quite ... hot.

It was the funniest episode in a while but seemed to end very abruptly, rather like the first half of a two-parter?

Also the weightless scenes weren't as convincing as last week.

Spoiler

Becoming bored of all the relationship crap, Why couldn't they have just kept the show about the 4 geeks that is what made the show unique, i loved all the geek references and now they seem to have stopped Although the Ed Norton Mark Ruffalo joke was very funny wish there was a joke about what film they went to see at the cinema rather than the hold hands with Amy rubbish. Best part of the episode was the lads talking to Howard on the laptop the show seems to be funnier with just the 4 of them

Really didn't like this weeks episode.
It has a going through the motions vibe to it.
Poor situations with terrible dialogue.
Audience laughing at stuff that just wasn't that funny.
It seems like they're getting laughs because of the anticipation of funny not because it actually is.

I love the show and hope it picks up but it has lost "it" as far as I'm concerned.

I agree that episode 3 felt very strange, almost like it ended without an ending.

The Penny/Leonard stuff is old ground, which never went anywhere anyway. With stories like this I fail to see how they're going to fulfil their renewal through to season 7, they seem to be running out of ideas.

Pretty pointless episode. However, I enjoyed the scene with Sheldon walking into Penny's bedroom and the "You scared me!" line. That was reminiscent of the early days.
