Just a question , no doubt soon the plugs and charging leads will be hitting ebay ? is there any diiference to the plugs and leads the Apple sell at a massive hike in price ? or is it just the build quality ?
I wouldn't risk a generic cable yet. There are lots of reports flying around that they will not work because they cannot reproduce a chip that is contained in the genuine cable
I'm not sure that it's because they can't reproduce a chip. I'm sure they can - but they might not bother.
The new Apple dock connector is digital only. There is no analogue output. The Apple adaptor also contains a DAC so that the digital output is converted to analogue to let it connect to speakers etc.
