Why has he got sense? The iphone 5 is a fantastic phone. The Galaxy S3 is a fantastic phone. It's personal taste what you prefer. Get over it

People who need to constantly bang on about how good their phone is over another really hack me off. It's so childish

If he got a Samsung, he doesn't have Sense, he has TouchWiz.

I'm sure the iphone 5 is a fantastic phone but once you turn it on, it's pretty much the same phone as previous iphones anyways. So if you already own anything above the 3gs. you're not getting anything much new are you? If anything you are getting a maps app that stinks and an interface that has been around since 2007!

So I have to agree with the OP.

For everyone raving about the iphone 5, watch this comparison vid with the 4s and tell me if it's still worth an upgrade. Serious stuff now, watch this vid. You may be pleasantly surprised. Bare in mind Apple claimed the 5 to be twice as fast as the 4s.

Without even having to watch the video I would not recommend anyone upgrade from the 4s to the 5 unless they were out of contract and wanted to.

I would apply the exact same argument for upgrading from the S2 to the S3.

I don't think anyone claimed that everything would happen twice as fast, although the video shows some significant speed differences in web browsing and games loading so I'm not sure the point you are making.

i agree with kidspud regarding upgrading the S2 to the S3 or the 4s to a 5.

but regarding 'twice as fast.' Apple did say explicitly that it was twice as fast....

...the question is how one might reasonably interpret that. technically we all know what it means, but when speaking to the consumer directly you have to be a bit more careful....

...and i think an intelligent consumer with no specialist knowledge might reasonably think it would do some tasks twice as fast.

I have an HTC Desire S and I bought mine and will be staying with that until such time that they invent a smartphone that can survive more than a few days with resorting to a battery charger. Whenever I go anywhere longer than a few days I take a trusty candybar Nokia with me which i can always rely on to make telephone calls etc without all the other gimickry. I know which, I rather have should I ever be straned or lost up a mountain on somewhere remote, assuming of course there was a cellphone network available.
Smartphones are fine as expensive toys and not much more tbh.
