Just revealed on the Late Late Show on RTE where she was interviewed. She will join Kian Egan, Sharon Corr and Bressie as one of the four judges. A very good signing I think, it should be interesting to hear her opinions.

Interesting choice, wouldn't have seen that one coming. I do like her so may watch next series. I never watched the first series of the Irish version, who is she replacing?

Singer / songwriter Brian Kennedy (he's had a few hit singles in the UK).

Jamelia came across very well in her interview, very bright and bubby. She says she has watched all the episodes of the Irish version of the last series and the one thing missing was there was nobody on the panel to cater for the R n B singers and she hopes to redress that this series.

Jamelia would have been a good judge if this was 2002.

Well she's still only 31 (and looks younger). I'm sure she's pretty up to date with the current music scene even if she hasn't had hits herself recently.

Yes, I believe it commences at the start of January.

I found her very irritating during her interview especially the constant laughing and giggling. I hope she's not like that on the show.

Wow, how did she get that gig? She hasn't done anything musicwise in years, I guess RTE have a very limited budget and are doing it on the cheap!
Last years was truly awful. Are they still having that troll Kathryn Thomas presenting?

Jamelia came across well on the first show anyway and is popular with the contestants.

I enjoyed her a lot. She is good fun and a nice presence on the panel to balance out Kian Egan's dickishness, Bressie's seriousness and Sharon's muteness.

No, Jamelia's a proper pop / R n B singer in her own right (had her first hit at 15) and never appeared on any TV talent show.

Javine Hylton is the lady you're thinking of.

I hope a move to prime time UK tv will be on the cards for her. She'd be great as an X Factor judge.

She's doing a great job on The Voice Of Ireland. Very bright and bubbly and smiling all the time, but she seems knowledgeable about music too.

On the trailer of next week's show, Jamelia is using Lemar as her assistant judge for the "battle" rounds.....quite a coup for RTE to have this pairing.
