Screen Burn On Rear Projection TV (HELP!)
I have just bought my son a Toshiba 43vJ33Q so he could mainly play his PS2 & X-Box on there. I have been advised by a friend not to play consoles on this type of TV (as any still image gets burnt onto the screen). Is this correct?
Your help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

I think the problem is with shooting games with the GCon and other such guns that fire on the screen. Have a look in the front of one of your son's PS2 game case (one that requires a gun) and see what it says. I know you couldn't use LCD screens with some of the games, not sure about projection screens.
In any case, I think it is mainly plasma tvs that suffer more readily to screen burn from static images on the screen. Your son's game screen will be changing all the time. |

Yes I thought screen burn was only caused by having a prolonged static image being projected.

As long as there's plenty of action in the games you should be OK.
Gun games will be OK on rear projection tvs if the tv is set to 50Hz. They won't work on a tv set to 100Hz. |
