For discussion of Saturday's final

This Saturday sees the eighth and final episode of Strictly Come Dancing 2, and there are just three contestants remaining.

There will be two shows on Saturday evening. In the first one, each of the couples will perform one Latin dance followed by one Ballroom dance. Denise and Ian will do a samba followed by a quickstep, as will Julian and Erin. Jill and Darren will begin with a jive and then follow this up with a foxtrot.

All three then take part in a Viennese Waltz to end the first show. The votes will then be calculated and the second show will open with the news of who finished in their place. It will then be left to the remaining pairs to go head to head in a show dance.

18:55 - 20:00
Strictly Come Dancing - The Final

20:40 - 21:30
Strictly Come Dancing - The Final show - Results

Betting Odds

Jill Halfpenny 1/5
Julian Clary 6/1

No Judges' votes then? Just public votes?

(Sorry if this has already been answered)

I thought the show dance was just for "fun" and wasn't being marked by the judges. I'm sure that's what was said on last nights ITT anyway. If that is right, does that mean the couples will only be marked on two dances?
I suppose it doesn't really matter how many dances are marked really as the audience vote is the one that seems to decide it in the end and as we know the phone lines have been open all week so anyone voting now won't be voting for anything they will see on Saturday anyway!

OH MY GOD......how good was Jill & Darren & 40 points & Darren's pink top........lol

I love their jive, especially the bit where Jill manage to balance on one leg etc...

Not sure it was worth 40 points though. The cynic in me thinks the judges have pushed J & D (possibly undermarking I & D's samba) into first place to guarantee them the win:

Jill & Darren = 3 from judges + 2 from public = 5 points = 1st

Julian & Erin = 1 from judges + 3 from public = 4 points = 2nd

Ian & Denise = 2 from judges + 1 from public = 3 points = 3rd (and no free dance?)

I might be wrong, but I don't think the public are going to change their voting habits (i.e. lots of votes for Julian, but not enough for Denise).

U hit the nail on the head there CaptinSensible (Wot a weird sentence) It was good but no way was it worth 40 marks! I've said it before and I'll say it again. The BBC and SCD have known whpo they wanted to win from the beginning. I mean dnt get me wrong I'm not saing Jill's cr** or anything...........far from it but Jill and Darren would have had to come top of the Leader board tonite in order to win. Denise had to come top of the Leader board last week to get into the final otherwise the final wouldnt have been as entertaining. They've played us for fools I say!

I'm not sure about last week because J & D's soso tango meant that the judges could give Ian & Denise fair marks and still have them on top of the leader board.

However, I don't blame the judges for manipulating an absurd voting system in their favour. Denise could have never have won, and Julian would be embarrassed if he won; therefore, Jill winning (deservedly so) is the best outcome.

They might have played us for fools, but it was our fault for being fools already :P

That was a bit mean - I think that they thought they had won too, but it isn't the same as knowing you have won.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the final. I love the feel good vibe on SCD; it's the complete opposite of a vulgar, vicious, trainwreck of a show like the X-factor.

I just wish I knew a sassy partner like Hazel or Jill or Camilla etc. so that I could learn to dance...

Yeah have to agree that SCD has such a good vibe. Unlike ITVs show.

Congratulations Jill and Darren!!!

what a great show tonight....the best dancers won.
shame the judges didn't appreciate how much julian has improved in this show. imo it's what this show is all about.
still, i loved it all. can't wait for the next one.
