I hope not, I really liked it although its a bit tucked away-Found lots of it genuinely laugh out loud funny which is amazing considering most of the so called 'comedy' thats been on the BBC recently

No one talks about Celebrity juice on DS but it gets very good ratings. There is hope for Hebburn.

More people would probably commit to it if it was split over two nights, and with no Wild at Heart they need to rethink their Sunday nights anyway.

Watching a 2-3 hour show and then a half hour results show in one night can be a bit much especially since SCD, X Factor and The Voice have all been split. They need a better structure for the results shows too, it can be very unpredictable and inconsistent in terms of guest performers and group performances.

SCD's cast are more well known overall.”

Beth Tweddle is one of the most well known Olympians from this year, SCD are just very lucky to have the postergirl of this years Olympics. You could say that noone knows who Louis Smith is, a washed up daytime TV presenter and Mandy Dingle off Youve Been Framed who presented it 10 years ago. It just depends on how you want to spin it. It works both ways. Both shows have very good line ups.

Are we sure BARB haven't been inflating C4 numbers again? That Grand Designs figure seems to have jumped a fair bit.”

Really? I'm sure I remember EE rarely going below 10 million between Christmas and the Live ep.

As others have said in relation to EM, I'm sure an 8pm slot would have given it at least a bit of a boost. However, I don't think the fact that really it's big stories were not that high profile helped; the only draws were the live element and that 'someone will die'.

Contrast that to Corrie which had the huge disaster and EE which had the extremely high-profile whodunnit reveal which had kept viewers hooked for the previous two months, and it's easy to understand why it didn't get THAT much of a boost.

he is very well known around my way, he is basically the only person (on Strictly) people care about.

No, the gay rugby player who did Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year.

The problem for Dancing on Ice is that 2013 is a critical series for the show, because if it drops again, I can't see it staying, when you consider the Skate Off's earlier this year were delivering high 5m's.

Is Miss Daybreak presenting again this year?

Splitting Dancing on Ice over the weekend comes up every year. But don't think there's room. Won't ITV have Take Me Out in January, when does Sat Night Takeaway start ?

They could perhaps launch over a Saturday & Sunday for the first weekend to get everyone skating (like SCD do with Friday & Saturday), but then I think it will revert to normal. Think Mr Selfridge will be between the main show & skate off on Sunday.

Isn't it the only thing she does for them now ?

Dancoing on ice needed a couple of big name stars to get people talking about it again, or a big fresh twist to its format like having members of the public competing against celebrities. Just something different to get newspapers and people talking about it. But that lineup is average, similar to the last few years, it doesnt have anyone who stands out and the format will be the same old thing. It just feels like Itv have accepted defeat with DOI and are going through the motions with it before they axe it in a few years time. Theres no reason for this to happen, Scd has shown the last few years that you can reinvent yourself after a wobbly series or two.

Well with Take Me Out airing now they might not have it in January - and with Dancing on Ice cut to 10 weeks they could hold back the next series of TMO till mid-March and pair it with Britain's Got Talent (aka sacrifice it versus The Voice auditions). Presumably The Voice is waiting till the Spring - I'd have thought we'd know by now if it was being moved to January.

Probably, they've still got another year to get their moneys worth from her contract. They should just drop her and try to get Holly back, failing that it would be a risk but Julie Etchingham from ITV News seems to work well with Phil on ITV's royal coverage, they could provide a good team. Will never happen though, ITV would rather choose 'glamour' to attract younger viewers they'll never get.

Saturday Night Takeaway from 6-7, DOI from 7-9 and Take Me Out 9-10? Take DOI away and they're left with a pretty bare schedule.

The current run of TMO finishes on 1 December, and they are recording in December which makes me think it will continue in January ?

Dancing on Ice 2013 is being shown just on Sundays according to an ITV Media sponsorship callout:
Quote:
“Dancing on Ice returns to dominate Q1 with a glistening 8th series. Olympic legends Torvill & Dean are joined by Philip Schofield and Christine Bleakley – and the rest of the nation – in watching the troupe of inexperienced celebrities find their feet on the ice before the panel of critical judges.

As the weeks go by, we cannot help getting caught up in their emotions and successes, and delight as they develop into accomplished skaters.

The sponsorship package offers a brand the opportunity for a full 360-degree campaign in 2013, with a superb on-air awareness driver, and a rich package of off-air and online activation tools built into the opportunity to wrap up the sponsor’s Q1 activity.

Package Details

Broadcast
ITV1 | Q1 2013 | Sunday peak
9 x 90min main show | 9 x 30min results
1x extended Final”

I think Saturday nights in January will be something like: 18.30- All Star Family Fortunes, 19.30- Prize Island, 20.30- Take Me Out, 21.45- Jonathan Ross Show, which isn't going to rate particularly well. Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway might air at 19.30 from late-February after their BGT audition committments are over. According to ITV Media, new dating show My Man Can will air in Q2, possibly airing in the pre-BGT/post-BGT slot.

A few comedies on ITV1 and ITV2 in Q1 and Q2 next year:
Quote:
“The Fresh UK Comedy sponsorship package offers a fantastic opportunity to partner with the UK's biggest commercial broadcaster and MAKE MILLIONS LAUGH.

Showcasing some of the funniest UK talent around, both in front of and behind the camera: Ricky Tomlinson (The Royle Family), Tom Rosenthal (Friday Night Dinner) and Russell Tovey (Him and Her) all appear in this side-splitting line up on ITV1 and ITV2.

Shows included
Great Night Out ITV1 (6x60 min)
The Job Lot ITV1 (6 x 30 min)
Plebs ITV2 (6 x 30 min)
Fake Reaction ITV2 (8 x 45 min)

Broadcast sponsorship of Fresh UK Comedy on ITV across Q1 and Q2”

Great Night Out is about four thirtysomething men who gather for a weekly night on the tiles in Stockport. The Job Lot is a single camera sitcom set in a busy West Midlands job centre. Plebs follows three desperate young men from the suburbs as they try to get laid, hold down jobs and climb the social ladder in Ancient Rome. Fake Reaction is a panel show, originally piloted for BBC3, in which six celebrities must try to hide their natural reactions as they face an array of unusual situations that test all of their senses.

Forgot about Prize Island. They have quite a lot to fit in, but like you say, no guaranteed bankers in there.

What do BBC 1 have for Saturdays in January ?

The Security Men - Last I heard, Jeff Pope (announced as co-writer of that sitcom when initially announced way back in 2009/2010), is currently writing the scripts for it. Not sure if Caroline Aherne is still involved with the project though.

I think they'll have Richard Hammond's Secret Service (new prank show), Britain's Brightest (new gameshow), National Lottery In It To Win It/Who Dares Wins, Casualty and Match Of The Day.

Interesting couple of ratings from Spain.

'Gandia Shore' (a homegrown Spanish version of Jersey Shore) debuted to over 1 million viewers on MTV Espana - pretty sensational.

Plus the Spanish version of the Voice is doing very well - getting around 6 million viewers a week.

And suddenly The X Factor's ratings will look stunning...

They need something to hold Saturday Quarter 1 together though I suppose they fear moving Dancing on Ice away from Sunday's will leave it open for BBC One to claim a strangehold.

Saturday
6.00 Prize Island
7.00 All Star Family Fortunes
8.00 Dancing On Ice
9.30 The Jonathan Ross Show

What have BBC One lined up to follow on from Call The Midwife, though? If it's something like Sherlock then ITV1 would really have a problem.
