Regarding your Aussie post, the standard of broadcasting there is abyssmal, very few homegrown dramas in the 2010's, a huge reliance on imported US/UK content and programme ideas.
Compared to a country such as Denmark (which had about 25% of the population of Australia) which has global hits and a very healthy PSB and commercial side, plus heaps of critical acclaim. I don't think many people would be upset at the demise of a few Aussie commercial channels.
Watching Aussie tv makes (even) me realise how fortunate we are to have ITV......We have BBC as our flagship (Denmark has DR) but other countries lag way behind in quality.....”
I donated because my brother sadly lost his fight with cancer about 10 years ago now. But you don't what to know about that.
I found the show last night a bit boring to be honest and it got on my nerves so I switched off. It should get 2m maybe 3m but I found it a difficult watch.
And as for EE ratings. I really want to see more people tune in but that's just a fantasy. If they are above 7m then good. 6m for EE at this time off the year is really shockingly bad. If you look at its January ratings it looked quite healthy but it has just slumped and I don't think they will ever regain the ground they have lost over the last few year.
It's been a trend. The show has been mostly poor for along time and people have lost interest. It is improving but not by enough yet. Corrie can still get pretty good ratings so EE should as well.
