They don't want it to take viewers away from The X Factor.

Spoiler

14th September: 7.15m
21st September: 7.29m
28th September: 7.34m
5th October: 7.04m
12th October:7.88m
19th October: 7.84m
26th October: 7.71m
2nd November: 8.22m
9th November: 8.44m

And those, Iain. You're both right about the first episode of Full Circle: it was bumped to BBC Two on August 31st, then repeated the following Sunday on BBC One.

Not going to happen with the Liverpool match and Red Dwarf taking a large section of its target audience.

there was a Liverpool match on? seriously how does this stuff keep sneaking up on me?

Still it would feel like a low rating if, it was less than 6 million, it has been well promoted, and it was very good.

Just had a thought about the scheduling of Palin's Brazil, do they want to keep that slot drama free so they can air drama on BBC2, there's quite a bit coming up and hardly any slots where they won't go up against drama on BBC1. They've got The Hour, The Fall, Dancing on the Edge, Top of the Lake and The Girl (but I think that will air around Christmas.)

Doesn't explain why take WDYTYA a week early, and where Crickley Hall will air.

Must say I thought Hunted was run of the mill at best.

Bad dialogue, standard storyline and fairly dull overall. Certainly not the groundbreaking drama that I'd like to see from the BBC (and hopefully will in Ripper Street).

It is just a matter of algebra A finite number of male viewers, many with access to the family TV remote.

Red Dwarf > Football > Hunted

Hunted may well timeshift to 5.5m, but I see the overnight figure nearer to 4.5m. A 6m overnight figure would create a hundred posts here!!!

The first Presidential debate (aired on 11 networks) was up 28% from 2008 with 67.2m people watching on average compared to 52m in 2008.

FOX News, ABC, CBS and NBC all had around 10m viewers each.

A question for those with some knowledge of TV ratings.

I have been told that 4am to 6am are the least time when people are watching TV.

Is this generally correct?

Cheers

Some BBC2 drama may follow Parade's End to Fridays where BBC1 show comedy at 9pm.

BBC1 will surely replace Andrew Marr (series ends 11th November) with drama as ITV will be showing I'm A Celebrity by then. Drama against Reality TV - complementary scheduling.

Isn't 4 am the time the body is at its lowest ebb and many people die ?

I don't have an issue with Palin on Wednesdays.

If Attenborough can get 9m there for nature documentaries, why not Palin?

80 Days and Pole aired weekdays post 9pm.

It keeps him away from Downton and Celeb. Just a shame the BBC have handed Sundays (and therefore Christmas Day) to ITV on a plate. I never like to see BBC1 running up the white flag, it's most unbecoming.

Gosh you're being very generous there, I thought it was horrendous. Worst acting I've seen in a LONG time. How does Melissa George land these roles? She's been on everything from Friends to Prison Break and is just awful in this.

Only 4.5m for Hunted. Thought it'd launch higher.

With all of the promotion you'd expect Hunted to clear 5m, well I did anyway.

ITV4 and Liverpool probably dented Hunted too. Bet Homefront was under 3m...

Thought it might manage a bit more than that with the Spooks connection in the trailers. Good job it didn't launch against Downton on Sundays, would have been below 4million there. Be interesting to see the demos and whether it picked up the young skewing Spooks audience or a completely new set of viewers.
