An update on the consolidated ratings for TXF for the three latest available weeks (including the Judges' Houses weekend), with year-on-year and week-on-week comparisons:
In contrast with last year, when Bootcamp saw ratings fall, this year they improved at that stage (from a lower base) but then fell back at Judges' Houses.

Massive tumbles for ABC. Once, Revenge and 666 all down at least half a point week-on-week. Park Avenue looks to be dead and this move doesn't seem to be doing Revenge any favours. CBS had a predictably terrible night as well. They really need to go back to the drawing board with their Sunday nights.

Corrie ran 20.31-20.58 tonight. Very odd for the second Monday episode that normally runs 20.29-20.55.

It was up quite a bit week-on-week hence why it was a boost.
Ice Age 3 did brilliantly last night, especially for a repeat, it's one of the most successful animated films ever, I loved it! I think we can say that Channel 4 and Channel 5 are doing really well with their movies, Sundays at 5.30 is a great timeslot, especially as Christmas approaches, I'd love to see lots of big movie premiers, Channel 4 always impresses me! We have A Bug's Life coming up on C5 this Sunday so I would predict around 1.8 million for that.

If it is to get another season then Warner Bros needs to do some bargaining with CBS, even though Hawaii Five-0 rates lower, its CBS owned so they are more inclined to renew to hit the magic 88 episodes whereas Mentalist will be over 100 which makes it more vunerable, I do hope that they resolve the Red John storyline.

CBS have really messed up with the crazy scheduling this season, breakout hits from last season are witnessing viewer dropout.
On a separate note is it likely that EastEnders will get over 8 million for a single episode before Christmas Day?

CBS have messed up big time this season, going into it I'd've put them as the hot favourites to win - but their scheduling suggests they're almost waving a white flag on Sundays/Fridays and I think they made a mistake moving 2.5 men, moving '2 Broke Girls' may have created an absolute power block, much of CBS's line up is ageing now and I agree that they aren't doing right by their sophomore/newer shows.
On the other hand NBC looks like they've won the week again, thanks to the dual attack of The Voice/NFL, what're the chances that they actually manage to win the season?

ABC seems only able to win on Fridays, although I have a feeling that'll change when Whitney premieres, meaning that NBC may be able to consistently win 3 days a week (Something which seemed impossible last fall season

So Emmerdale scores its best overnight rating since April with just over 7m. Hopefully this is the boost its been looking for now just a week away from the 40th Anniversary Week. And it was only 460k behind EE. Corrie continues its big lead over EE on a Monday night with some solid ratings and even if you add in the BBC3 repeat, EE is still abit behind. And NT falls on last week - but 7m is still a good result - but no way near the heights of last years run.

POG has roughly the same rating this week as last. New Tricks is down a bit on the last few weeks but a good rating nonetheless. Emmerdale has seen a nice boost last night, perhaps in advance of the live episode it will start to rise now. Monroe is probably a dead show now.

Surely it's Emmerdale's 19th anniversary- the wine bar and lesbian vet soap was born in 1993 when the old soap about north country farming folk was axed on its 21st birthday?

New Tricks for one or did you not notice that.
POG is the quiet success of Monday Nights. Almost 5 million is excellent in what used to be a graveyard slot against EE. I think ITV have found a secret weapon here.
New Tricks seems to be falling back a bit now, getting closer to 7 than 8 million. While Denis Lawson is good, the absence of James Bolam seems to be hurting and a few substandard stories haven't helped.

No, they're watching more on other channels than the main five. The number of viewers is pretty static but the shares for the main channels are falling.
Unless, they're watching IPTV through their TV, the figures aren't included in BARB's ratings.
I expect the vast majority of internet viewing is still through PCs, tablets etc.

And even some of the once giant digital channels. Are you not concerned that despite the increased spend by BSkyB on original commissions, both Sky1 and Sky Living are down on last year?
In the latest week of officials Sky1 mustered a 0.8% audience share, down markedly on the 1.1% achieved for the same week last year. In the monthly shares it logged 0.9% compared to 1.0% last year. Sky Living meanwhile recorded 0.5% including +1 across the month of September, well down on the 0.7% achieved in September 2011 and this comes despite the closure of spinoff channel Sky Living Loves which held an additional 0.1% back then.
Maybe it's just me but I can't help but find it hilarious that Sky's most watched entertainment channel is usually Pick TV, as in the channel they put absolutely no effort into whatsoever because it's free and they hate the idea of free TV. Is that not ever so slightly embarrassing?
They are not even that well clear of their pay TV competitors as Viacom's Comedy Central is growing share through shrewd acquisitions and homegrown commissions of its own. 0.7% it held in September 2012, up from 0.6% last year, placing the channel ahead of Sky Living and not far behind Sky1. I've no idea how much Comedy Central are spending compared to Sky on entertainment, but I daresay it's a lot less, and so it does raise the question, how come Sky's ratings performance isn't markedly better?

I'm sure that it will not be long before ITV announce that there will be a Paul O'Grady dogs special for Christmas. Could we actually see Paul sandwiched between Emmerdale and Corrie on Christmas night ?
