ITV does well with these cheap anti-EE Corrie fillers because many ITV soap fans don't watch EE, so dutifully await the second ep. Or they do switch but come back at 8.27 when EE finishes. Can't see what all the fuss is about O'Grady's dogs, it is not getting 5m once tapechecked and the repeat is stripped out.

Standing on its own two feet it would struggle to get 3m.

It's obvious how ITV1 have played this. There isn't a big overlap between EE and CS and POG, a CS fan as well, seems a natural choice to fill this gap. However, there are many of us who watch neither soap and still find it entertaining.

It's doing very well in the ratings - and no wonder - IMO it's very tense at times, good fun, great music, and Bradley Walsh is an ideal host. Perhaps the celebrity version has boosted the daytime episode! If this keeps up I can see ITV launching a non celebrity version midweek (in place of Mr & Mrs?).

There's plenty of programmes that haven't got to 5m in that slot. And TV schedulers acknowledge that a corrie/ eastenders clash is the clash that must be avoided at all costs because of the similarity of the audiences, although I'd suggest Eastenders skews far younger than it did maybe 15 years ago (I think the writers have watched a bit of Hollyoaks, put it that way)

Finally! I think it should have ended years ago but hopefully Channel 4 will use its budget for new dramas.

Oh i think so......EastEnders first Gay wedding next week with 2 popular characters,The exit to 2 popular characters and the huge stunt they have lined up for November (filmed in Bristol a few weeks back) which leave 4 regular characters lives in danger.

Have the BBC ever considered a soap opera for kids/teenagers to be aired on the CBBC?

How well did the R1 Teen Awards programme on BBC3 do last night?

And this doesn't seem right

1 WOLFBLOOD (MON 1717) 416
2 WOLFBLOOD (TUE 1718) 411
3 FILM: HOTEL FOR DOGS (2008) (WED 1657) 376
4 THE SCOOBY DOO SHOW (FRI 1559) 313
5 THE STORY OF TRACY BEAKER (MON 1700) 287
6 THE SCOOBY DOO SHOW (TUE 1602) 277
7 THE SCOOBY DOO SHOW (MON 1601) 266
8 THE STORY OF TRACY BEAKER (THU 1703) 264
9 THE STORY OF TRACY BEAKER (TUE 1701) 263
10 DANI'S HOUSE (SUN 1130) 262

With the exception of Wolfblood, new programming is being overshadowed by repeats, The Scooby Doo Show FFS , and what's up with Blue Peter this year? I don't think it's getting more than 200k viewers. It's highest rating this year is 304k, for the 7th June edition. It used to get over a million on BBC1 (especially around 2006).

They're all miniseries and one-offs, I'm thinking more returnable dramas which Channel 4 have been lacking.

So the Voice went up in the US last night, despite it being the Battle Rounds, and Revolution seems to stabilising after falling only a tenth, an amazing night for NBC... CBS' night was up all over, but was preemted in some markets so will definitely be adjusted down.. Over at FOX Bones is starting to shake at a 2, and the Mob Doctor is bound to be whisked off the schedule after it posted a 0.9!! Cha chaing our way to ABC, Castle beat DWTS, It would be like Merlin beating Strictly!! Finally at the CW, premiers of Gossip Girl and 90210 didn't even break a million viewers

NBC: 4.2/11.12 million
CBS: 2.8/7.34
ABC: 2.1/12.41
FOX: 1.5/5.28
CW: 0.5/885k

On the other hand NBC looks like they've won the week again, thanks to the dual attack of The Voice/NFL, what're the chances that they actually manage to win the season?

1. NBC 2.8
2. CBS 2.6
3. FOX 2.2
4. ABC 2.1
(Week 2 average exc. Saturday)

ABC seems only able to win on Fridays, although I have a feeling that'll change when Whitney premieres, meaning that NBC may be able to consistently win 3 days a week (Something which seemed impossible last fall season ).”

I wonder if NBC will be able to maintain its momentum? ABC has been using the BSI I see as some of their decisions where to place shows are simply crazy, why move 'Revenge' to Sundays as it was winning its Wednesday slot last season.

I expect CBS to tweak its schedule and regain its crown but the fight is on for second place and I can see ABC sneaking in to take second with NBC squatting in their usual spot at third.

He has been strangely absent from this thread, maybe he despairs at the low ratings and can't be bothered to defend the position anymore.

Last night it was a case of close but no cigar for the eight million,

CBS will win the season regardless as they have the Superbowl and the AFC Championships in primetime and oddly that gives them two opportunities to have a show boosted by football.

so what it was almost 7.6m last night. Up on last Monday and looking at last weeks officials most eps are well over 8 million and thats what counts.

Ah a gay wedding, that's so 1990's, and another huge stunt wow they do like sensationalism but tend to forget the limited abilities of the talent and a weak script whenever they do anything big, the last big stunt that was billed as the best ever in EE cost hundreds of thousands yet tanked against Emmerdale.

Eastenders is never going to outpace Corrie, it's ratings are erratic and nonsensical at times, two years of Kirkwood have damaged the brand and the viewers that have departed well they are not going to return apart from maybe a few that are curious. It's glory days are gone and like all soap ratings will continue to decrease as the years pass as multichannel viewing takes a bigger share of the ratings.
