Homeland surprisenly skew older when you look the demos from the US ratings but demos aren't really important as its on Showtime.

Me and her indoors don't feel so odd now!! Only the other week my wife felt there was something wrong with her for watching both the Ryder Cup and X Factor.

Some people have no idea of crossovers!! Perhaps the C4 scheduler is one of them?

Lately the Channel 4 scheduler doesn't seem to have an idea about anything!

ITV Media says it was ITV2's highest peak of the year. The 2009 finale episode of Britain's Got More Talent you mentioned had a peak of 3.06m exc +1 (the ITV2+1 average was 262k consolidated) so the Carolynne edition (3.1m inc +1) didn't beat that.

Right, I had a feeling they didn't have ITV2+1 in those days. Highest peak of the decade then

I think the new ITV2 drama Switch had around 500k viewers (I remember reading it this morning)?

A show like Downton, that scores big in every demographic, is bound to have some crossover with everything it faces.

Yeah, I was surprised. ITV1+1 began in January 2011 but ITV2+1 and ITV3+1 launched as early as 2006, and ITV4+1 in 2008, although the last two of these are not available on Freeview.

Switch had 637k inc +1 (3.8%). Beat E4's Made in Chelsea (553k inc +1) and the EE repeat (608k/4.1%) but it's a little uninspiring for a brand-new original drama. Only 100,000 and a share point up on the year-to-date slot average.

Another Itv drama launch flopped. Only 0.6million for Switch, they mustve been hoping for 1m viewers. Monroe rating very poorly too.

Also latest reports say that Poland versus England game is being delayed due to a waterlogged picth, causing schedule problems for Itv./

Potential nightmare for ITV:

Ian Dennis ‏@Iandennisbbc
Referee now inspecting pitch with Roy Hodgson. I can't see this going ahead in such conditions
7:23 PM - 16 Oct 12

Phil McNulty ‏@philmcnulty
Roy Hodgson out on the pitch in Warsaw and looks genuinely concerned about the conditions. Lots of standing water on surface. #bbcfootball

They just said on ITV1 that the match may be played tomorrow night.

How will they schedule that around Emmerdale Live?

Will be played under the roof. It cannot take place at 8pm -- that's me off watching the GBBO.

I would be interested in the game being rescheduled for tomorrow and see how Itv reacts to that chaotic situation. Will they put a game of national importance on Itv4 or shelve an episode of the 3rd biggest soap?

Warm-up would be on ITV4, live on ITV1 from 8pm.

I expect ITV would ask for an 8:15 kick off tomorrow, if it was to be postponed.

All around the country now, pub landlords are saying "Don't worry lads, I'll put on The Great British Bake Off grand final for you instead".

Great British Bakeoff is going to get over 6million/7m peak tonight cos only about 2m fanatics will be watching pundits talking on Itv1, easiest competition for Gbbo so far, luckily for its big final!

It's ITV2 and I don't think The Only Way is Essex (even though it's not a drama, but still original programming with not much promotion apart from adverts) presumably started with less than a million and then built its audience as it went on.

I would predict 4/5 million for the match on ITV1.

Are you doing a Glenn and just throwing in random one line predictions about random stuff in the middle of knowhere?

Seriously, I expect the build up has higher ratings now than it usually would.

The last one. That or a classic England match.
