Eastenders - 6.91m (28.7%)
BBC3 repeat - 578k (4.0%) Emmerdale - 6.66m (32.8%) , +1 157k (0.7%) Corrie 1 - 8.41m (37.8%) , +1 245k (1.0%) Corrie 2 - 8.4m (34.4%) , +1 376k (1.6%) Terrible rating for Eastenders last night. Really low for an October Monday. As far as my records go back (2009) that is 650k lower than the previous record low in October, which was a Friday. October Mondays have never gone below 8million before. Did Paul O' Grady's ratings go nuclear on ITV at 8pm? EDIT: should probably add that the regular Tuesday Emmerdale clash episodes back in the 2006-2008 era would have gone much lower. |

What happened to EE? 6.9m for an October Monday is beyond poor. And just 250k ahead of Emmerdale. Paul O'Grady must have done very well. Corrie did fine. I would be nice to see it creeping towards 9m now on Monday's. NT continues to do the business. Monroe lower than I expected especially if that rating includes +1. |

Poor start for Monroe. Looks like that is a goner after this series. New Tricks did well. I don't think it has reached its peak yet this series, episodes are getting better I think and getting used to the new character too.

ITV media has Paul O' Grady at 4.96m (21%) for last night. I think they include +1 in their ratings but not sure. Either way a rating at that level shouldn't have dented Eastenders any more than last week.

Paul O'Grady averaged 5.0m (inc +1). It does seem to be denting EE.

Very Low for EastEnders last night.
Where is it going wrong? It's probably one of the better soaps at the moment. It needs to grab back the viewers as under 7million in October is dreadful. I think it's POG that's bringing viewers to ITV1 but October is the time that ratings need to start improving. |

1.7m for Hotel GB
Maybe it'll pick up a little bit tonight. It seemed watchable enough from what I saw, albeit a bit of a C4 love-in with the people involved, and the 1hr40m duration won't have helped episode 1. |

You should watch five minutes of Andrew Marr's History of the World. It's laughably bad. It's like a spoof!
What's on ITV1 at the same time is irrelevant. BBC One should be serving up better than this on Sundays at 9pm. ![]() I do watch his 9am show on Sunday morning though. Is this new show that bad? |

That Monroe figure does include +1 btw. It got 3.4m on ITV1. |

Are the older demographic sticking with ITV for Paul O'Grady? EastEnders strikes me as 'quite' a young soap in comparison to say Coronation St/Emmerdale so it has to be impacted more by timeshift/I Player than the other two.

This is grotesque to bring this up in a ratings thread and I apologise. With all the coverage of Jimmy Savile in the papers,I think there will be a lot of interest in this Exposure documentary about him.
There are two ways to look at it. One is that the documentary comes out after he's died and you can't libel the dead. On the other hand guilty people have hidden behind libel laws in the past such as Liberace and Robert Maxwell. This documentary will certainly be a talking point for the week. |

Whatever way you look at it, EastEnders isn't in a good place at the moment. |

In other news, C4 are reportedly very unhappy about BARB's reporting errors at the end of last month, which may have had commercial implications in their dealings with advertising partners, and have requested a meeting with the company:
