Strange that BBC Scotland have always shown their national team on BBC1 yet BBC Wales when they had the rights kept them on BBC2, generally causing less disruption to the schedule.

If CTM is on Christmas Day (which it shouldn't) I'd switch it with EastEnders.

Probably the highest ratings in the 8pm hour ITV will have all autumn!

I wonder how they'll schedule that - one a week or two part stories over two nights a week?
On one hand I'm not sure how it will work - even Effy and Cook seem like ages ago - Cassie was last on screens in 2008 and IIRC a lot of their stories seemed fairly final but I guess they're picking up years into the future to get around that. But I know I'll definitely tune in anyway and given the right promo it might attract some nostalgic viewers. Looking forward to it.
I never watched series 5 and to be honest I don't really know why I didn't. I loved the reinvention in series 3 which is my favourite of the lot (and the only one to actually build in ratings through the run). But maybe it was the fact that they had the continuity through Effy that helped the transition? For whatever reason I just couldn't get invested in a third group. Plus, series 4 got a bit odd towards the end.
It'll be a tough show for E4 to replace.”
I do think the third generation suffered by not having a link to the second, and it's surprising really they hadn't set one up considering Effy was quite crucial in the transition between the second and third series.
I do think Cook and Cassie both had endings in their eras which really should have been left unanswered. Now we know Cook is alive and we'll get some kind of answer that never satisfy viewers about Sid and Cassie. The Effy edition doesn't sound too brilliant either.

No earthly reason to take the Bake-Off Thingy to BBC1, no earthy reason other than ratings that is.
And so BBC2 (and BBC3) never get a chance to actually deliver on their remit and develop a brand that people will be drawn too.
Channels are defined by the programmes that air on them, not some gee-wiz graphic.”
A real shame once again for BBC2 - and completely the wrong decision. It's a BBC2 show and moving it to BBC1 will only damage it.

Good in the meantime though for ITV to have games that matter.
