I agree it's nice to see Gail have some fun for a change but the way Gail is being written and played right now just feels weird, and out of sync with the person she is now. I almost don't buy her as the same character. She
shouldn't be the person she was as a teenager - and going not so far back, she worked at the cafe for 20 years so she should be a dab hand at dealing with the public, far from the perennial first day on the job she seems to be on now.
I know you don't mean it this way KK, but I hate the comedy character label - to me it means someone used solely for comedy who has no grounding in reality. Even the funniest characters should work dramatically too. One of the biggest problems with Corrie lately is that a few characters seem to be pigeonholed under the comedy character banner.
Agree about Deirdre though.
