In Last Nights Episodes for one sec i thought Nick Was going to be her toyboy - i then rememberd that it was her son

I hate her silly "baby" voice when talking to her kids, especially Sarah and Nick. Creeps me out big time!

She speaks to everyone in that silly baby voice now though...like her scene in the bistro with Lloyd and Jenna.

My OH was watching with me the other night and when she was walking down the street shouting with the board, we both looked at one another and said the same one word, pathetic.

Gail is not funny, never has been and never will be. She can't act funny convincingly.

And again tonight
What was that scene with the group of lunching ladies?! It was just terrible and not funny at all.

Why does she have to act weird around customers with a bizarre grin on her face. Nothing like beating a dead horse with this "joke". And when did she go from a cleaner to somehow managing the place, or as Nick's minion.

Gail must be losing her mind, that has to be the only explanation.

She used to have the monster in law from hell as ivy was always over protective of brian. Now she's turned into ivy Brennan

It was so bizarre. I was thinking 'have I missed something' ?

There was a time when I liked comedy Gail, but currently she has become weird I think getting promoted to waitress has made her think she is the boss of the bistro and she was rude to Lyold.
Her relationship with Nick is weird, sometimes I think she wants Nick to be her toyboy.

I love comedy Gail its a vast improvement from the simpering po-faced Gail we've had the endure for the last 15 or so years. New Gail is hilarious though the way she's always trying to look good yet somehow always manages to look like a fool. There's something very Hyacinth Bucket about her now.

Deirdre on the other hand just irritates me now with her amnesia over anything Tracy related. Back in 2007 Deirdre knew what a nasty vindictive bitch her daughter was and didn't put up with any sh*t yet now she will defend Tracy to anyone who dares speak up against her despite the fact she is always in the wrong. As a result she is now just as bad as her vile daughter for supporting and encouraging her. Without Blanche for her to bounce off and with her and Ken just going round in circles I actually think Deirdre's character is now redundant and should be axed. Ken works brilliantly with Wendy and had great chemistry with Martha before that, and also with his pals Rita, Dennis, Emily, Norris, Brian etc.

I fail to see any similarity between Gail and Ivy! Ivy was, although at times a very unlikeable character, totally believable and down to earth, Gail is unlikeable but neither of the latter two! At least not in the past 6/7 years anyway!

It's funny - up until the end of the 90s, Gail was one of the most likeable characters, and most of her scenes were lit up by her smile. She was especially good in the cafe with Alma. It's a shame what poor writing has done to her, and Deirdre for that matter.

Gail is no fool. Naive in love certaintly. But she knows how to dish it out to people and stand up for herself.

This is not Gail.

I thought she had morphed into Madge from 'Benidorm'

The writers need to remember this is a soap, not a sitcom.

I like Gail's comedy side but I do hate how Nick treats her like an idiot. She ran the cafe for the best part of twenty years, she knows how to run a successful business and handle the public. She's not the imbecile she makes out and he treats her as.

I want to see Gail back in business with Roy, either that or setting up her own establishment after tiring of skivvy work for her condescending son.

This is exactly who she reminded me of! That wide-eyed look down the nose is what did it!

All she was missing was an orange spray tan and a mobility scooter!

I think she became very Ivy like in the late 90s with her vehement hatred of Leanne and her relstionship with Nick but she seems to have matured a little on that front. Oddly, I founf her a very hard character to like through the 80s and 90s - the first time I really felt for her was when Sarah-Lou fell pregnant at 13 and Martin left her in the lurch raising Sarah, Bethany and increasingly devil cchld David and of course the Richard Hillman story was great and I liked the Joe stuff too.

I hate the way they seem to be writing both Gail and Deardre as increasingly thick, silly oap types - they're in their 50s for gods sake, not 80! I think Collinson just doesn't know what to do with them. The way she is in the Bistro is bizarre, 20 years in the cafe nd wasn't she a barmaid for a while before having kids?

Mind you I find it rediculous that someone with Eva's barnaid, management experience and looks can't find a good job in the City Centre at a swanky bar rather than becoming a knicker stitcher.

Yes me too though her character has changed abruptly from forever troubled, anguished, interfering (oh hang on tho; she still does that) opinionated harridan.
I quite like Gail tbh.
It's that black haired woman I can't be doing with..the one who's just dumped steve.

A poster in the SOR thread put it brilliantly when he said Gail is acting like someone on day release from the loony bin She is well used to dealing with the public over the years with working in the cafe and as a receptionist. It is baffling now why she is suddenly acting like a simpleton when it comes to dealing with the bistro's customers.
I can't take any more of her hammy facial expressions

Let's just be honest about it. Gail is incestuously attracted to Nick and that is why she is the way she is. It is why she can never make a relationship last with any bloke. Glaringly obvious.

You may think Gail's character now is bad, just wait until Stuart Blackburn leaves Emmerdale (after ruining a bl**dy good soap) and takes over Corrie.

There will be personality transplants galore, sex, random people will be brought in from outside that wouldn't fit into the street in a million years, sex, there will be sex, murder, sex, mayhem, sex, marriage breakups, sex, saviour pregnancies, sex, taking over other peoples businesses, sex, mercy killing, sex, idiotic schemes, sex, baby snatch, sex. bitchy women, sex, and most of all, lots and lots of sex.

He will want to make it "gritty and urban" in other words he will probably totally ruin the whole show. Good luck to you all.......
