Hollyoaks ~ Suspension of Reality
I thought I would start this new thread re:HO as there are so many things I think they seem to 'forget' or just 'push under the carpet' like they have never happened or existed before.
So if anyone else has some questions too, feel free to discuss! (I know Corrie already has a thread like this - which I thoroughly enjoy, so just post away.) |

1) The disappearance and no mention of Finn O'Connor (Sinead's younger brother) ... if he has 'gone to live with his dad' why was this not mentioned or stated?
As isn't he supposed to be a father to 'Amber Sharpe's baby' (the defunct family that got axed)...the producers could have explored this with Amber off screen i.e. him visiting the child or exploring the issue of teenage pregnancy and the effects on young fathers - which is not generally explored from the male perspective in soaps... 2) Hayley (the student in the wheelchair), whom left to go on maternity leave from the show, was pregnant (in the show) with Rhys or Josh's baby...this SL has totally been ignored and conveniently 'forgotten' why would a man just randomly forget they have a child? I have heard of fathers neglecting their children or not being involved but they do mention the fact they are fathers from time to time...don't they? 3) The 'disappearance' of Seth Costello...he left HO originally to go and live with Riley, when Riley left the first time with Bobby to play for some football team. But when Jacqui went to visit Riley there was no mention of Seth or whether he had gone to live with Jason and his dad in America or just plainly vanished like many other characters... 4) Where is Cindy's child? Was she in a boarding school or something? I cannot remember the explanation what Cindy said when she returned but just like other characters she does not mention her own child or the fact that she may have been in touch at all...maybe her and Rhys are really meant to be? (Although I may have these queries I still enjoy the show...as of yet) |

My favourite has to be Silas obviously having a Master Key for all the homes in the village.

Definitely...and strangely the access to that 'cellar thing' that he locked Mercedes in for all that time...
...which conveniently was right under many of the local punter's (from The Dog) noses! |

Nobody thinking that Silas (a serial killer on the run) might have kidnapped Bobby.

Warren dying and then rising from the dead like a 21st century Jesus. Surely the biggest SOR in Hollyoak's history.

I know but I think it was a bit stupid the way everyone said it was Mitzee straightaway without even considering that it might have been the man who had once terrorised the village.

There is the age old issue of characters' jobs/ uni courses being changed very rapidly and/ or being forgotten about... And of course nobody ever graduates!
Add Ricky and his dad to the list of unexplained disappearances. It's a shame the actor's exit storyline was never screened. |

Silas is still on the run and no one seems to care.

Also is there no freshers this year...like other years? Or is it not the time yet for freshers week? I know they seem to get a mixed reaction each year from viewers...but it just seems a bit weird without new students in the village...

Mitzee seems to be taking the old "hiding in plain sight" maxim to the extreme.

Well I'm at uni, and for me and most of my friends term started last Monday, so freshers week was the week before.
But a couple of my friends haven't gone back yet, so there's a chance..... |

Cheryl suddenly has a swanky car (when one is needed for suspected car-bomb reasons) yet she's never been seen with a car before, and in the recent HOs laters episodes she was catching a bus to go and visit her sick Nan.
