Hi all, I've got my home phone with Orange, We are getting bombarded by international phone calls from call centres, Survey question phone calls and the usual scam calls claiming to be from Microsoft. Got to the point where it's about 10 phone calls a day we get now and bloody sick of them, when you tell them to stop phoning they just hang up before i can finish shouting at them..Is there any way of getting these calls stopped, I joined that TPS Thing but it hasn't stopped them. Any advice please

The TPS can't help as they are from outside the UK - if you don't mind spending money on it?, try looking at Trucall which will stop them.

I simply don't answer the phone if it's a with held/international/08000 number etc. Do you have caller display?

Whistle by phone, changing number may help.

TPS can help with overseas calls if they are being made on behalf of a UK based company. In that instance they are subject to the same rules and regulations as if the call originated in the UK.

I have a thing connected to my phone called Truecall here. It basically stops all unwanted international calls, withheld calls. I have it to accept my calls that appear on my star list and nothing more. If somebody from abroad phones it sounds like a dead line so they stop using my number.

The unit costs £99.00 to buy outright, but you are a BT customer it is £15.00 which includes first month rental and £10.00 postage and package and then it is £5.00 per month for 12 months.

I have to say I am over the moon with it. I was getting 10 calls a day which were either sales calls, debit collection agents looking for other people who had my telephone number before me and silent calls. I don't get any at all.
