Assuming you are using ios6 then you will need this app

https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/live...493861593?mt=8

Or wait until google update their mobile web-app to include street view

OP you obviously have not looked at an Ipad, which comes with a maps app built in, which has the exact same street view pictures as Google Earth (my neighbour is putting out her dustbin).

AFAIK, once you have upgraded to iOS6 then that is not the case. You will switch to Apples own sat nav app which does not feature street level views.

Correct, the new maps app doesn't have street view, and street view isn't coming up as available via google maps using the safari browser.
I'll try the new app that stephen122333 recommends when I get home later.

Just got delivery of my new iPad. Comes with IOS 5.1.1 so still google maps. Not upgrading yet...

In case you don't know how to get street view, you need to drop a pin on a street (touch and hold the screen until a pin appears) and then touch the little yellow man on the left hand side to get into street view.

Why don't you have the best of both worlds. Install the aforementioned 3rd party app and also upgrade to IOS6. There are actually some advantages to the Apple maps, in particular it uses vector graphics instead of the map squares and as a result i much faster zooming and also caches more.
