EE: The Social Worker
Having just viewed a scene in tonight's episode, it seems that this social worker seems a little too attached to the baby for her own good.
How many times does she need to pay Lola a visit and nearly on all visits, she's going out of her way to catch her out.

I'd rather a "Who Killed Trish" storyline than a "Who Killed Derek" one now TBH. Can't stand her slimy presence in every. bloody. episode.

I was thinking maybe they aren't actually doing a social worker story, and this woman's just a total bitch who happens to be a social worker.

Soaps never appear to do social workers properly. They're always bitches intent on having the child taken off the person they're meant to be helping.
This latest social worker seems to fall to stereotype. |

I understand Lola's own plight in relation to the law and the social worker being a little extra vigil, but this really is out of line in relation to her own ethics and professionalism - it's almost as if she's emotionally attached to Lexi. |

I havent actually watched EE but if she is as much of a stereotype social worker as you say...
is she black? And this isnt me making a comment about race or anything like that. Social workers on EE just seem to all be EXACTLY the same. |

The constant 'is that paint?' 'can i smell bleach?' 'is the flat on fire?' 'have you left the baby on the sideboard?' is really ridiculous.
So forced and cheesy. |

No, she's white. She's not just a stereotypical social worker (which in itself would be a bad thing), she comes across, as others have already pointed out, as being unhealthily attached to Lexie, and it actually comes across as similar to Mad May's attachment to Summer.
And ah... well Im sure that will do wonders for the perception of social services in the UK |

Social workers aren't a bit like that. That woman is a snobby patronising cow determined to find fault, social workers usually try and help...gah...

Janine walks out on her baby. Michael fobs the baby off on anyone who will look after her. The social worker, of course, isn't interested in the slightest.

I'm thinking the social worker is a nutter and will try and kidnap Lexi in true Mad May fashion. Would be a bit random but would be fun to watch

She was even more ridiculous tonight. What does it matter if you can smell bleach? The baby is weeks old, not as if she's going to crawl or walk to the bottle and take a swig.

My mothers a social worker and I swear the first thing she said when watching this new one sniff around Lexi was "I bet this ones a nutter" It must get really annoying at how social workers, care homes and kids in care are represented in soaps... They are so far from the truth its a joke.

She so annoying, maybe she fancy Billy and is trying to let him know it explains all these visit. Last week when Billy wasnt there she was supposedly visiting someone else, now Billy back shes returned.
She must have seen him carrying the torch and thinks his a celeb in Walford.

I blame the Executive Producer for this Social Worker overload . Not impressed with Newman . Please don't give me the ' its still Kirkwood's work ' because that cuts no mustard with me . LN's name is on the credits .
Also seems to be a cleaning products obsession |

I know, she was irritating not trusting him, but everyone who loved her either abandoned her, betrayed her or died and he should understand why she's so insecure, since he had his own tradgedy. Quote:

I love Lola, I think for the life she had she's a great kid and turned out well. Billy maybe silly, but at least he's a family man and loves his granddaughter, Lola, great granddaughter Lexi, besides his two children: Janet and William and he always strives to do his best.-Nobody is perfect. The social worker maybe a patronising cow as you said-unfortunately it happens. Quote:
