Whether she wants a career in the media or not, she may as well use her celebrity status to achieve that, or would you prefer her to take her medals and hide away. If it was me I would grab every opportunity with both hands - she's earned it through years of hard work. She's only doing what we are all doing, trying to make a career where she can earn a living.

Good luck to Victoria and Brendan tonight.”

I agree with you totally

I like Victoria and feel sorry for her. But I feel more sorry for Brendan. Shades of Fiona Phillips?

That is very unfair - Brendan has stated on a few occasions that Victoria had danced the routine flawlessly four times in the rehearsals (a routine that some on here had commented as being over-complicated). She went wrong in a dance where it is difficult to pick up after a mistake (indeed, she did recover but went wrong again).

Fiona was just bad.

I'm sure she's trying really hard. I don't think she has natural flair but she can learn. And, if she does succeed, then it'll be all the more to her credit.

I'm not her biggest fan at the outset but I wish her well.

And surely that is one of the factors that makes SCD celebs interesting - watching their progression and development over the weeks, and seeing their effort and determination to learn (unlike some of course, *cough").

I'm undecided at the moment about Victoria, not sure she's as bad as Fiona but you never know, we have only seen one performance so far.

I do feel a little sorry for Brendan as she is a lot worse than I was expecting. Not her fault. She came with a great weight of expectation and that in itself must be hard to cope with.

Look, to me she's comes across as fake and insincere. That is the reality of how she is (to me). She doesn’t seem natural at all in her manner or affect; it seems staged. I’m not commenting on her dancing, or ability to ride a bike. That fact that some of you get caught up in her ‘performance’ as someone to like or feel sympathy for only proves my point. It’s a planned personality on display, and not ‘real’.

I am absolutely gutted for Brendan who is way overdue a winning performer. However, we haven't seen Victoria in hold yet and that may change the dynamics completely.

Nothing you have said "proves your point". It's just your opinion. Those of us who like her and are sympathetic are not gullible idiots as you make us out to be. We are entitled to our opinion as you are.

Wow! She could make a fortune in Hollywood with these "acting skills".

She's one of the few this year that isn't a performer and hasn't got an acting bone in her body or she'd have hidden the tears far better seeing as she was so embarrassed by them.

If you'd have seen any of the programmes about her or followed British cycling even casually, you will know that's how she is. She's a very complicated personality for a sports person.

I have no desire to learn about her - it's how she shows up to me when I watch her on telly. I can accept a frail person who has low self esteme who has excelled in sport, what I don't have to accept is someone who presents herself as real, when it smells false.
