I think the first episode strongly hints at a particle accelerator accident at S.T.A.R. Labs going wrong. Likely he gets his power from some "exotic matter". Heck, this could be a Static Shock "Boom Babies"moment, leading to many powered characters on the show.
Super powers should be rare, and special, and used sparingly. At least DC comic's has always had a good mix of powered and non-powered characters. |

As long as they keep it under control, unlike Smallville which just had superpowered random people popping up all over the place.
Super powers should be rare, and special, and used sparingly. At least DC comic's has always had a good mix of powered and non-powered characters. That's a matter of opinion. In the comic world Super powered heroes and villains were the whole point. The non-powered ones were the exception. Of course I always preferred Marvel because it had even less non-powered ones. The non-powered ones never really excited me at all ![]() I guess they are going the non-powered route to increase the 'realism' and bring in a wider audience who are put off by fantasy but, for me, it's the fantasy that draws me to a show not the lack of it. Don't get me wrong, I'm really enjoying Arrow but I'd enjoy it more if it acknowledged its roots and embraced the comic world that it stems from. |

I was thinking the same last night. That part is very far fetched.
![]() Did like the new 'hero' the Clock Tower Blonde - more please, and the Doll Maker was a great Baddie..... ![]() Liked the Island Action too. And Mum - court case.

Originally it was, but the actress it seems is not liked(in any of the shows she has done tends to get the boot from them), so they changed who BC will be.

They have already changed BC from having a sonic call to using a device. |

Not if the actress follows her normal trend, and leaves due to creative differences. Don't forget the tv versions of the comics can change who what where and when.

I thought "Crucible" was a cracking episode. I had already seen the reveal about the Black Canary's identity, but the one at the end .. that was a surprise
![]() Certainly showing Agents of Shield how it's done for comic book action at the moment. |

Well I said it was her last year.
Scene where mother turned up saying Sara was alive and wanted Lauel to help find her. She had a photo of them as children and in it was a black cannery which was Sara's pet and everyone else hated the bird. I said on here, BC is coming and it was Sara, everyone said no. So there will be no plastic surgery etc, Laurel is not the BC in the TV series. Thrombin, in the showbizz section here we have the blinds(gossip where real names are not allowed). It came up about Laurel and how she was on her last warning with Arrow over her behaviour. That was why they picked someone else to be BC. |

Laurel may become BC down the line they could easily recast if she gets fired if necessary have her have a accident go away then come back after plastic surgery if they wanted to explain why she looks different
I haven't read anything about Katie Cassidy being that much of a problem though so I don't know where all these rumours are coming from that she's seemingly on the verge of being fired. Just randomly thinking as well, I wonder if they'll effectively catch up with themselves timeline-wise on the island ? If what we're seeing at the moment is, in effect, real time, then surely at the end of Season 5 we'd be looking at Oliver being found on the island as it'll have been 5 years since he returned. |

I'd say the most likely route is if her sister ultimately gets killed and she takes up the role. I can't see them deviating from the comic all that much.

Don't forget he spent five months, during series one and series two, on the island. Maybe he'll spent each series break there, adding more mystery as to why returns every year.

Yeah, good point. I suppose if they do opt to kill off Laurel's sister then he'll likely hightail it back there again.

Is it likely, or not, that Blood is Ra's al Ghul (or maybe he is The Scarecrow)?
It will be interesting to see how they approach the whole "League of Shadows/Assasins" thing. Was Fry a part of The League, or their adversary? Is the ship run by The League? Was Oliver Queen's training completed by The League? |

Scarecrow is Jonathan Crane, I doubt we will see him in Arrow as he is more Batman then anything but I suppose he could if they wanted him to down the line but I wouldn't expect it, Ra's al Ghul is just Ra's al Ghul he dosn't have an alter ego so to speak. |
