For me the flashbacks just aren't long enough. I think the result of them is leading up to what happened to Slade. I do enjoy them though as it gives us an idea of what happened to Oli back in those years but I feel they are treading very slowly with them because, back to sentence 1, they just aren't long enough. You don't get long enough to know people and develop anything towards them or care for them, other than Oli and Slade (because he is played by an amazing actor) and Sara (because of who she is) everyone else I couldn't care less about. Still it's interesting though.

It's also an origin story for Black Canary now. I suspect the flashbacks are considered as much a part of the show's format as the other parts so I'm not sure we'll see him ever get free of the Island until the last ever episode!
This guy seems very young and camp to be the Flash. They are certainly taking a different route to the last guy who played him on TV.

Oh I see. I didn't watch Smallville. The original Flash from the TV series was a lot different to this guy.
TBF he was a different Flash Kyle Gallner played Bart Allen who was always younger as in the comics he was known as Kid Flash to start off with and Grant Gustin is playing Barry Allen

I didn't think he was camp at all. And he was hardly 'camp' when he was lusting after Blaine in Glee either!
I actually quite liked the portrayal. Definitely made me want to see more of the character, I do hope they commission a full series for The Flash.

I think that's almost guaranteed now they're giving The Flash his own pilot episode and not using a back door one via Arrow. I absolutely loved Grant Gustin's performance as Barry Allen, just the right level of enthusiastic naivety and geekdom and a totally different character to the one he plays on Glee.
Him and Felicity were hilarious in their bumbling attraction and utter lack of social skills.

I actually thought it was one of the slower episodes. Some good action and I did like Barry Allen's introduction, but, for me, it didn't have that 'wow factor' that the last few episodes have had.

Not sure why he's masked, possibly because he's a "missing" person like most of the people that Brother Blood's been injecting with the serum.

Yes, because Max's OD is exactly the same MO as Slade's "death" on the island so it's going to give Oliver a clue as to what's going on with the super strength serum villains.
