I'm intrigued to know exactly what happened to him on the island. I don't want spoilers, but for anyone who knows the TV show or the comic books, do we get to find out more about his recent past?
As we're getting snippets of what did happen on the island, I would imagine we'll find out the full extent of his lost (5-year) past as the show progresses. He's got a lot of scars, I expect he's been put through some serious training; especially going from a billionaires son to a skilled revenge fighter (of sorts).

it might not be this season, but I expect we'll find out enough as the show progresses. Of course, they'll have to leave some things secret for suspense and such.

Every henchman in the history of fictional crime has been hired for his inability to shoot straight.
With the exception of Superman villains only when they are firing at Superman himself through they always seem to hit him.

I liked it lots. I'll be back for episode 2.

Was that a 'Deathstroke' mask we saw on the island at the start? And I liked the little touch of 'Speedy' being into drugs. Nice nod to the comics.

Oh, and how is it that Willa Holland now looks younger than she did in The OC?
Yes!! Thank you! I spotted the "Deathstroke" mask as well. It was identical in design.

Loving the series so far. There are lots of nods to the comic history. They've certainly researched it well. Hoping that they continue to put the spin on "Speedy"/"Merlyn"/"Black Canary".

Also, I might have missed the reference but was Kelly Hu's character actually "Lady Shiva"?
Will be presumably a returning character if it was... (NB: They never used her name in the script, and I missed the credits).

Also looking forward to seeing who the guy on island in the "Arrow" costume is, and who the mysterious big-boss character is talking to Mrs Queen.

Best comics based series for a long while by far ....

Whilst the outcome of each rectification is not in doubt, nevertheless the sub or perhaps main plot is shaping up fantastically well. The mother presumably wanted to kill her husband and inherit the business and shack up with her lover. She is fearful he knows the accident wasn't intact one and that she will be linked to the plot.

However, the final scene on the island is a real surprise as who came back. Is it Oliver or the Arrowman? Who is he and what happened in that 5 years between them. Very intriguing indeed.

I'm a big comic book fan and Green Arrow has always been one of my favourite characters. I loved hearing the names Ollie Queen and Speedy and Dinah Laurel Lance

Why did they change the name of the city from Star city to Starling city?

D'uh!! Kelly Hu was actually "China White". How could I have missed that? She'll definitely be back.

I love what they're doing with the DC characters on this show. They're new variations, but easily recognised.
It's almost like a Green Arrow version of "Batman:Arkham City"!

Have to say, I thought it was quite good.

The only thing I would have to moan about is that there was no warning before the first episode was aired. My son wouldn't have been able to watch the first minute of that, due to his epilepsy, and I'm sure that minute would have sent him into quite a state. It even got me dizzy, and I usually don't have any problems with watching wobbly/hand cam film material.

Didn't get around to watch the second one yet, but will catch up with it tonight on Sky+ lol.

Not a mega fan off DC Characters, so Lady Shiva and China White were new to me....thought the latter was great last night, more please and is 'Little' John going to find out about Oliver, he seems to be adding up the clues.

Liking the arguing with Sheriff Lance & Maid Laurel...

The book was empty when he pulled it out if his dads pocket unless that was a different one.
Thought there might have been just a page with the names, but maybe he was told the Names by he's Dad....and who fired the Arrow.......plus the Mum talking in the Limo.

I'm totally hooked...after just two episodes.

Yes. That bit completely threw me! A real "WTF?" moment

You know. I was so surprised by it that I never thought of that.

Just call me Thicky McThick

Don't laugh but i'd read his dad had used 'invisible' ink to hide the names incase anyone else found it.

So his bodyguard now knows his secret. Hope they don't try forging a duo of kind. Good action with enough normal elements to sustain. Looking forward to each episode.

But will he remember after the Poison wears off...
Hope he does.

Liking what the Sister is getting up to, trouble, and Oliver finding out about Laurel & Tom.....'he was Dead', is a great excuse.

Liked the IT Girl too.

May have to watch again, but who was the Lone Gunman working for...did I forget.

That's a good point actually...
Presumably "Deadshot" was working for a rival buyer ... or maybe the Russians ... I missed it as well.
Liked the version of "Deadshot", and the fact that they kept the eye-scope and wrist-gun from the comics. Wished they had also kept his "Magnum P.I." moustache from the early comics as well though. Tashes are cool ...
Seems rather odd that they've killed off Floyd so quickly as well, seeing as he's such a major player in the comics. Maybe he'll come back with one-eye or something. Olly did leave in a rush....
