With the team disbanding/going off - I guess we will get a few episodes of Oliver playing mayor and John playing Soldier. Something will then happen to John and Oliver will need to save him etc,
All in all, I'm glad that season 4 has ended as I've been struggling with it and Damien Dark was not a good season long villain but I guess once you commit to the story ark it is hard to change it part way through.”
The speech Oliver gave galvanished the people of city to fight against the evil that was in Darkh. The goodness in them in effect helped Oliver to counter against the darkness in Darkh and killed him. So no, you didn't miss anything, although I agree that how Oliver was able to beat Damien didn't come across all that clearly.
The season was a real slogfest in some parts. The first few episodes in the first half of the season were good. It was perhaps better than season 3, but still way below the excitment that Seasons 1 and 2 offered. I agree Damien Darkh, although very well played by Noah, was a rather dull villian (dull in the sense that wasn't much to him other). He just did not offer much of a complexity or challenge to himself and the team that would've stretched his character as well as Team Arrow's. John didn't have much to do other than be dragged down by his brother. Felicity and Oliver were in a repeat cycle as far as their relationship was concerned until they mercifully decided to call it quits (for now). Laural Lance had much much better dialogue in the Flash. Even the fight scenes seemed a bit jaded in the mouth.
Good bits for me were introducing Curtis (but I feel they need to hold off on the comedy when there is scene overloaded with tension crisis), resolving what happened to Ray Palmer, the Flash crossover and Felicity's dad. That's from the top of my head; like I said, itjust felt a bit like a slogfest unfortunately.
