I thought the same thing about Barrowman's voice recording, but it sounded normal again when he played it again in the final scene.

I'm really enjoying this series.

Good to see Crixus in it too now.

One small thing about this week's ep though. When they were listening back to the recording the first time (before the last ad break) why was Barrowman's character's voice disguised but not the Mothers. (Useless at remembering some names!) Wouldn't it have recorded them both either disguised or normally? I assume it's so they wouldn't recongise his voice (for the plot, maybe) but then wouldn't Diggle have recognised it? Very ”

I presume the explanation would be the extra distance from Diggle's listening device in comparison to Mrs Queen.

Although I'm not an expert in such matters

Only just started watching this a few days ago - got the first 14 episodes saved on the Sky box. Up to episode 7 now and it's a bit bloody good

Just watched episode 8 where Barrowman (who is a surprisingly good villain!) is revealed as the other Archer. I'm loving the story progression on this - each twist and turn and new reveal just feels spot on and not like it's dropped in just to bump the ratings.

Glad it's got a 2nd season as well

I know how you feel JW.

Arrow is just "one of those shows" that you thirst to know more about the characters, and love the action involved. This really did surprise me, because I honestly didnt think I would like it (also in this category is Person of Interest and Elementary) but have ended up loving the show.....

More, I want more.....

I think it's because the story has been mapped out so well. The stuff on the island has been handled really well and doesn't feel as contrived as the flashbacks did on "Lost". It's like the revelation that Yao Fei's daughter has the same tattoo on her back as Oliver does makes me even more intruiged to find out what's going on.

And the slow dripfeed of twists about Oliver's mother, Barrowman, and "The Undertaking" are quite addictive as well. At least with it being on the CW in the states, you know there's a good chance it'll get renewed a few more times at least.

The ironic thing is that Felicity, the so-called geeky IT girl, is the most attractive and interesting woman on the show. She did look pretty good on this week's show in her evening dress.

Last week in the Guardian Arrow appeared on a list of shows to look out for : http://www.guardian.co.uk/tv-and-rad...ed?INTCMP=SRCH

"Green Arrow was a DC Comics superhero in the Batman mould, and Arrow is more than happy to carry on that noble tradition. Arrow's outfit is green, and I'm hoping to hear the original title mentioned in the show: "Wait till I shoot you with my green arrow!" or "He wears a lot of green." "Arrow?" You get to see a lot of his amazing abs, so it would be great to see him run out of arrows and take down a crook with an ab-crunch. And I'm waiting patiently for 'Arra', the British remake starring Ray Winstone". SAM BAIN

He doesn't quite have the same abs does he?

Even from my point of view as a straight man, AS has one he'll of a six pack.

Felicity though..... phowah!!

Very good episode last night. Although at the rate he's going, if he tells any more people who he is, everyone will know !

Did Deadshot escape again?

Also going back to the 1st episode, how and by whom was Oliver discovered on the island? I only ask because I'm getting increasingly bored by the flashback story and wondering whether I can just skip it from now on.

He saw a fishing boat and then lit the big fire he had prepared (repeated in the opening credits each week) and gets picked up.

However it's pretty clear he doesn't spend all 5 years on the Island so he leaves at some point and then either returns (possibly just to set up his rescue) on his own or is exiled back there.

Interesting theory. I suppose it could be related to Malcom Merlyn's "evil" Arrow in some respect - maybe he finds his way off the island to some kind of facility that trains the arrows, but, as you say, he's exiled back there as some kind of punishment.

He just knows too much and has too many connections to have picked it all up on the Island IMO.

He's a high ranking member of the Russian Mafia and can speak fluent Russian, he had all the High tech arrows and stuff only a few days after arriving back at Starling City (so something he arranged before hand) etc..

Is there a particular reason the show is taking a short break in the States??

US Network TV scheduling is a law unto itself, there are several gaps throughout the season. Some are for analysing period viewing figures, some are for holidays, and some are just for....well who knows!
