Who will be cancelled after 50th
Ive a feeling that in 2-3 years we will be saying goodbye to this latest incarnation of the show!
Its losing fans fast by not appealing to a broader audience. The plots are convoluted and overly complicated, Some plot points that are set up are never resolved or turn out to not be as significant as they are made out to be, The characters are completely cold and not empathetic at all. In short i feel the direction its taken the last 2 years has completely alienated a lot of the fans I will be sad to see it go but i dont think it can continue in this vein! In my opinion there is nothing to see here anymore, i simply dont care if i miss an episode |

Somebody hasn't taken a look at the ratings, or how much money Doctor Who makes for the BBC.
If you have lost interest, that's your opinion. The show is incredibly strong at the moment. How you feel about the show does not determine how the majority audience feel or how the BBC make their decision to renew or cancel. Nothing profitable can come of cancelling at the moment - especially when it's one of the Beeb's leading shows and money spinners. As you say, your opinion. That, is that. |

So the fact that the new Director General of the BBC repeatedly used Doctor Who as an example of the thing the BBC are extremely proud of and intend to make a lot more of doesn't alter your prediction?

Not only do I not agree with the OP and echo the comments of subsequent posters, your subject is stupidly misleading and is either badly misjudged or done to get as many clicks as possible.
With the shows success in America and around the world plus ratings not declining as you state, it's obvious it's going to carry on for many years to come. It's a shame if you don't enjoy it as much as you used to but don't make statements as fact which are only from your own narrow perspective. |

Oh dear OP. I'm sorry that you're not enjoying Doctor Who at the moment. Perhaps you would be good enough to provide the BBC with a list of other shows that you don't enjoy so that they know exactly what to cancel because clearly only your opinion matters!

But she knows we all really agree with her, but are just scared to say so for fear of the Fanboys' reactions.

YOU'RE WRONG. Who is stronger than it's ever been, and your opinion of the show being cold and missable is something held by the vast minority of people - WHO STILL CONTINUE TO WATCH. And it definitely isn't "losing fans fast". Heck, I know people in my life who have actually become big fans of the show thanks to Moffat's and Matt Smith's take on it. And I know others who love the show just as much as the RTD days. You know what? Try to imagine the impossible. That it will survive. :P Whilst the Revival will probably never reach the 26 years set by the Classic Series, i'm sure it'll supass 10 years by some margin, with hopefully an appropriate final coda for The 13th Doctor.

This reminds me of the poster (I can't remember their name) who used to post weekly that the show would be cancelled due to falling ratings.
Edit : TVStudies, I even made a thread but it got locked ![]() http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showt...851&highlight= |

Can I mention "Hitler"? Or say "Mornington Crescent"?
Anything to end this boring thread!

"Doctor Who" will run forever (like a sci-fi version of "Coronation Street") or whether it will eventually get cancelled again, but at the moment, it seems to be doing well enough to stay on the airwaves. |

People usually get tired of a show and its characters after about six series, but Doctor Who is constantly reinventing itself with new Doctors and new companions so I don't see it going anywhere soon. |
