Posted this in the week 1 dances thread but thought it merited its own thread:

Quote:
“Lights, Camera, Action! Strictly Come Dancing goes to Hollywood, as this week our celebrities and their partners take their inspiration from stage and screen.

Our own small-screen idols Sir Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly will be directing the action, and judges Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood decide who’s been a blockbuster, and who’s going to flop at the box office.

Our professionals will also be bringing some old school glamour to the ballroom with a Hollywood-inspired group dance that’s not to be missed.”

Quote:
“Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are back with the results of last night’s Hollywood performances. Series six winner Tom Chambers also returns to the Strictly ballroom as the cast of hit West End musical Top Hat join our professionals for a glamorous 1930s spectacular.

But amid all the Hollywood sparkle, our judges scores and the audience votes have been totted up to reveal which of our couples are in the bottom two, and have to dance for survival. Who will be next to leave the competition?

Also, bringing a touch of Motown to proceedings, soul legend Dionne Warwick performs in the Strictly ballroom.”

Dionne Warwick isn't / wasn't ever a Motown artist. Different sound altogether.

Is anyone keeping a talley of bbc errors? From fisting to fairing, to downright 'wash your ears, idjit'.

Hollywood week, fabulous, we just need Kimberley to be Marilyn Monroe now.

I know he's not liked very much on here, but I am really looking forward to seeing Tom again.

Maybe it means she's singing Motown songs? She was in a Motown tribute concert recently.

I wonder if this means no Movie Week? Shame. It was the best week of both of the last two series.

I presume it'll be basically the same thing.

I think it's a bit more freeform than movie night - you could have a routine themed around an awards ceremony or a red carpet, and there'd be scope for theatre-based routines, or even a routine in the style of someone closely connected with the genre like Fred Astaire or, as mentioned above, Marilyn Monroe. And any routine that was based around a film would have to be a really iconic Hollywood film - a Bonnie and Clyde number, perhaps.
