Thanks for that link.

I wonder if that's the order they are dancing in too?

I don't think so, as that'd mean on Saturday there are three waltzes followed by four cha-cha-chas.

Saturday

Just to point out - TM says it's 7 each night. Well, someone from that Saturday group has to be on the Friday then (6-8 split atm), so presume it's Richard?

We always thought it was a 6/8 split though, as Saturday's 15 mins longer than Friday. So maybe they got that bit wrong.

But it's a funny split because its 3/3 on Friday and 5 cha chas and 3 waltzes on Saturday.

And as to running order - last year at least, they had the "big" names bookending each show (ie at beginning and end).

Friday I can see Fern and Nicky bookending the show, with Victoria about 3rd on and Denise maybe 5th

Saturday - Jerry and Kimberley bookending, with Dani towards the beginning, as well as Johnny. Louis will probs be towards the end.

And me - although one poster has said that apparently Richard said on Daybreak this morning that we'd see him tomorrow night, so maybe he's on Friday after all? The article says 7/7 but they've got it as 6/8 atm.

The BBC site says:
Week 1 - Show 1
Six celebrities take to the floor with their partners to perform a waltz or a cha cha cha.

It would have been more balanced if they'd gone for 7/7 and had 4 CCC and 3 waltzes each night. Better still, had 7 waltzes and 7 cha chas as some couples are probably not going to get to do both a Latin and a ballroom before the first elimination (can't remember last year - did Holly start with 2 Latin??)

I seem to remember last year they switched Holly from Sat to Friday (or did they just move her in the running order ). Anyway, I think they see how the show looks and can change things last minute.

Yes, somebody else did too, think it might have been Russell.

All the contestants appear on both shows even if they're not dancing - they're introduced and will be on the balcony with Tess and everyone else. It's definitely a 6/8 split.

Various thoughts on ordering based on the last few years and my own theories:
- The first dancer on each show should be somebody expected to be good and probably being promoted as one of the bigger names in the lineup (Felicity, Holly, Jimi, Harry)
- The last dancer on the Friday show is somebody highly anticipated for spectacle (Paul, Russell)
- The last two dancers on the Saturday show will be spectacle followed by good, if not the best dance of the night (Ann/Kara, Nancy/Jason); the Friday show will be vice-versa, a good dancer preceding a spectacle conclusion (Anita, Pamela, Matt)
- People who aren't very good or interesting and aren't expected to be will fall somewhere in the middle

Hiya Soupy. As I recall, didn't they schedule Alex Jones for the Friday show and then belatedly remembered that she might be a tad busy on The One Show? Not that she couldn't make the show, but she couldn't do all the costume, make-up and camera run-through stuff before the live show. So they did a quick switch, moving Holly to the Friday night and Alex to the Saturday.

I am a veritable mine of information.

No, Brendan, no. And, by all that's holy, resist the pressure to have an actual fecking gold-dusted sparkly bicycle anywhere near the dance-floor.

How do you do a vomit smiley?

No, they're on Saturday. The online team are, as we have established, really not very good at their job.
