Yeah it's very sad Regrets are a horrible thing.

Though badly worded/sensationalist headline (do we expect anything else from DS?) makes it sound like she's saying something bad about the UK, in fact she is just saying she wishes she had never left home.

Yeah, that's a bad headline. Emily has spoken before about her love for the UK and living in Yorkshire so it's not like she is slating Britain.

Grown adults who can't be apart from their parents is a concern.
Parents should be hoping to raise strong independent children.

Her mother was dying from cancer, that's why she moved back to Sydney. Did you even read the article?

She was away from home for 20 years, and when she finally went home, her mother died. I don't think she's being childish: I think she's just regretting not being able to spend more time with her mother before she died...

Many people have to carry on working and can't just stop and go home.
Until everyone is afforded the same freedom i shan't worry myself about it

It is a shame. I can't imagine you're ever prepared to lose a parent - imo forty is still quite a young age for that to happen, and thoughts such as the ones she has expressed are bound to come into play. However I'm sure her mother was very proud of her, and I hope she dwells on those more positive thoughts rather than punishing herself for living her life.

It could. But it wouldn't make any sense.

I dont think someone ever gets over a parents death regardless of how old you are. I know I would never truly get over it. Its sad that she didnt get to spend a lot of time with her mum, but like its already been mentioned her mum must have been proud of her and she should cherish those special moments she had with her.

Well allow me to elaborate. It was posted on a public forum so I offered my opinion.

I'm not bothered one way or the other if you agree or disagree either as it's all just an opinion at the end of the day, that doesn't make any difference to anything.

Still wouldn't make any sense, I'm afraid. Replying to "Who's asking you to?" with "Who's asking you to?" would be completely nonsensical and just plain silly

It's a matter of opinion.
