Alan Turner - Bookies Fave.. Are they all mad??
LiamBerryTea ~

I'm genuinely confused why Alan Turner is the Bookie's favourite when it's been told the person has it coming..

I'm confused.. Are people not bothering to read or am I missing something here? Lol o_O

I've absolutely no idea but I totally agree, I'm shocked he is the bookies favourite. Carl...Cameron...fair enough but Alan turner? How has he had it coming?

He used to be a right bully at Home Farm in the old days, but there's hardly anyone left in Emmerdale who would remember any of that, apart from perhaps Betty and Eric...... but he's long since calmed down.

Stuart Blackburn could quite easily have chucked that statement in as a red herring, so that we all think it will be Cameron, Carl or even Cain. If there's anyone whose list of crimes and misdemeanours is longer than a teenager's bucket list, it's Cain, and yet I doubt very much they'd off him....... if they bump Carl off they'll leave sooooo much history unfinished....... Cameron is perhaps more likely, and yet he only really has one misdemeanour racked up, it pales into insignificance next to Carl and Cain's atrocious pasts....... who else could be described as "had it coming"? Val? Apart from her thieving past and general unpleasantness recently, her only real "crime" has been to return from Spain as a crazy woman. Jai and Robbie are also off the list, as they also mentioned "well-loved character" and neither of them really fit that. Eric Pollard? He's been an evil so-and-so over the years, everyone thought he killed his ex-wife (he didn't though) and although recently he's been pretty emasculated he definitely has a murky past.

Most of the cast seem to be unaware too, if they are telling the truth - Matthew Wolfenden and Charley Webb commented that their scripts haven't given them a single clue about the upcoming death. Still, they're probably just saying that

That also rules Betty out, and Diane. I still think Ashley or Paddy are in with a chance

They seem to be giving Carl a lot of enemies all of a sudden; I think it could be him.

It's true! Especially as
Spoiler
he chucks Nicola and Jimmy out soon

There's another two. Didn't somebody connected to the show say something about there being "big repercussions" from one of the deaths? That should narrow it down. The other death will probably have nothing to do with repercussions or having-it-coming or any of that rot, and that will probably be one of the older cast like Betty or Alan.

Spoiler
The Nicole and Jimmy eviction is very random; as a long term plot device it makes little sense as it isolates him from the one person who gives him the time of day in the village. Who's he going to spend any time with - Charity at the company I suppose. If he survives the live he'll probably start an affair with her.

If Carl is murdered there will be a whodunnit rivalling his dad's death, it'll leave the King's house situation open ended not to mention the business - I doubt he would've drawn up a will and Charity will make it quite clear that Jimmy didn't want anything to do with it. Then you have the secret of Chas and Cameron which would seemingly be safe but possibilty guilt would be too much for Chas, even if she's not the killer.

The more I think of it the more I think it will be Carl.

but i think it would be to easy for it to be carl .

That is the thing - are they throwing a lot of mud at Carl so people assume it's him only for someone else to die?

I've said this a few times on threads lately, but would Emmerdale really kill off Carl King after his father Tom King, stepmother Rosemary King and brothers Matthew and Max King have all died in dramatic plots over the last seven years? Surely it would be completely mental leaving Jimmy with no family left?

Anthea Turner?

People keep saying maybe it's someone completely unexpected but sorry to say... When have Emmerdale actually shocked us?
Or should I say when has SB ever shocked us?
Given that when has he shown he cares about the older characters...?
Or the show's history??
To make it an old character would mean he's changed completely by remembering the show's history, started respecting old characters enough to give them the big plot and create ongoing repercussions and that he's gone out to shock us..

Doesn't seem too likely personally

In theory it can't be Alan Turner, because in a previous SB interview, relating to Betty selling/practically giving her house to Victoria, he said that Alan would be 'changing his living accommodations'.

I'm sure he didn't mean Alan was going to be moving to a coffin.

It's Tootsie. She had it coming. Always poo-ing and wee-ing in folks' yards and whatnot.

Yes, I'm hoping that all this giving everyone in the damn village a motive to get rid of Carl is just a double bluff/red herring.

On the other hand, SB is not known for his subtlety and every single sl seems to be signposted in large font/braille because he thinks we're all too thick to to detect sls without him throwing them wrapped in a brick into our faces.

I think charley and Matthew are winding people up. Of course they know who dies as they have filmed right up until the end of Nov so they are bound to know.

I took that as meaning Betty was going to die and give the house to Victoria in her will, Victoria would then evict Alan, without Betty being there. They seem to be sign posting her death quite a bit, by expressing her will to live saying she has many miles left yet and her involvement in getting people to eat her cakes and what not.

Yes, that makes sense except for the bit we've been told that some people might think the person 'had it coming'. Doesn't really apply to Betty. Hope it's not her anyway.

I imagine this is a dumb question but anyway; does anyone know how you go about actually placing a bet on this??

I can't find an Emmerdale bet on the Ladbrokes website at all. Am I missing something, or will it not be on the website, or will they not put it up until nearer the episode?

I'd like to put a few pounds on it but didn't think it would be this hard to work out
