It has been working for me but kept reconnecting and when I was doing the neighbour rounds it was taking ages to load each one so gave up.

EA have posted on Facebook to apologise for the servers being down. Most people are asking for donuts as 'compensation'. I'd much rather bells or they lower the targets to allow us to still complete the special prizes.

Anyone taken their Christmas lights down yet?? I can't wait til this elf thing finishes, I hate the noise they make when you catch them!

I've taken them off some of my houses, but not all yet.

I quite like the elf sounds tbh!

I took the plunge today and switched off the lights. Just to coincide with taking my own lights and tree down tomorrow!

I am getting a bit bored of the elves too. I will probably get all the prizes, or at least as far as the Spruce Goose, which is all I really want. I am a few hundred away from Helper Ralf. I am a bit disappointed that not more Christmas event buildings give out elves or bells and didn't give out any presents in the first half either. Seems like a waste of time giving out money from a Christmas themed building during the Christmas event. If anything it would have rewarded players who have stuck with the game since last year. They really have made some large gaps between them in this half of the update. At least all my neighbours are still active. A lot usually give up after the main bit of an even has stopped.

I've been wondering - you know the set of red doors (where the Santa Challenges were based in Part 1)? What does tapping the floating elf above it do? I've tapped it and can't see anything happen other than the elf disappears.

I hope I've made sense there

I got the Spruce Caboose today, it's pretty big!

I am 4,000 away from the final prize so with only 4 days to go it looks unlikely I'll get it, btu I'll keep trying. I'm not so fussed about the island itself but want to see if there is another special item or character unlocked if we get them all.

I reckon it will just be donuts after the Island. Just under 1400 bells to go for this so hopefully I'll get it.

They put the price of donuts up... now £3.99 for 60, £7.99 for 132 or £14.99 for 300.

I'm guessing the game is successful enough that they think it won't hurt it.

I guess, as a result of the server problems they've been having during the Christmas Phase 2 event - such as not being able to get on for numerous hours on Christmas Day - they've extended the end date for the event: it now ends next Sunday (the 18th) instead of this Wednesday.

ahh, I was playing lots to make sure I got the island before it ended, which I got today. Guess I have a week to try and earn some donuts now then.

I got the Island today! I didn't expect to get it at all as I was 4,000 away a few days ago.

I see they now reqwuried 4,000 bells to get some donuts. I will now aim for that and seeing as how they've expanded the event I should be in with a good chance.

I used up some donuts I got on the Homer Buddha. I got an orange tree which is a bit disapointing but at least I get more XP/Money bonus, which is great as I really want the Krusty Land Oil Rig and I'm now within 1,000,000 of it.

I do think the aspirational buildings should perhaps boost xp/money by 1% as they do take a lot of time, effort and dedication to get!

It wasn't just Christmas Day it was down - was down most of New Years' Day too!!

Mine still says 2 days to finish but I guess it's just not updated yet. I don't know if I'll get the Island, but I should get the Spruce Caboose.

i got the spruce caboose yesterday and was thinking i'd never get the island (wasn't too bothered but it would be nice to finish part 2 like i did part one)

Kind of good news it has been extended though my countdown also says 2 days - oh well. I have a fairly good chance now to get the island

Mine is saying the event ends tomorrow? It was meant to end today according to my timer and then i got an update this afternoon which changed the timer till tomorrow. I hope it's not being extended until the 18th, i've collected all the prizes and i'm just a bit bored of this event now. The incentive to keep collecting bells to get donuts isn't even working.

One of the people at tstoaddicts.com had a phone call from an EA Rep, who told them the event would be ending on Sunday, although obviously that's been changed since. (To 14 January 2014, apparently. )

I haven't got everything, but I don't really fancy either the Spruce Caboose or Tropical Island, so I kinda gave up after getting Little Helper Ralf. And largely because I'm also bored.

Hopefully we'll be having a bit of a breather before the inevitable Valentine's Day event - it would be nice, as we've only really had three weeks since August(!) without an event of some sort (Clash of Clones, Halloween and now this).

A breather would be nice - I need to do some re-organising, With all these Christmas decs and leftover castle bits it's become very messy.
