Alan and Betty are the only one's left who knew Jacob Sugden.

Betty and Alan both used to live in the village many years ago, before they even made their first appearances

So hopefully Alan and Betty will mention it or something. His gravestone is in the grave yard in the new village.

Victoria could mention him? She was his granddaughter.

I know she never knew him. But it was her grandfather. Jack would of told her about him.

Alan came after Jacob died. He was buried in the first eposite. Wasnt it in the late 70's when Alan came to run NY Estates at Home Farm.

not really, My paternal grandfather died when my elder brother was a baby, I know very little about him, if anything Annie might of told her about him, but that's not guaranteed either

Alan didnt arrive until 1982 and Betty in 1994. Jacob died prior to episode 1 in 1972. The OP implies that Alan and Betty both lived in the village before they appeared onscreen and therefore may have known Jacob off-screen. Its a long shot i suppose....

Edna has lived in the village all her life too.

Would be nice if the anniversary week started with Victoria, Andy, Sarah and Diane putting flowers on Jacob's grave saying that Jack asked them to always do it. Just a 30 second sequence would be enough.

Can't see it happening though!
