Corrie: Maria Good News
I know it's a soap, but I'm emotional in that I'm glad that it's good news - love the girl!

Yeh, and her kiss with Marcus is quite a turn up for the books! She looks so much more relaxed with him than with Jason.

When I saw the title of the thread I thought the mumbler was leaving! Of course got seen within days and got the results on the spot, very real life! - NOT. This rather serious subject was not seen through but just used as a plot device for an affair with her gay friend.

I do love Maria and think that Samia Ghadie gets unfairly criticised.

The storyline was just a plot device for the Maria and Marcus relationship.

Yes, it was a plot device but they have already done a breast cancer story with Sally so I suspected that this was unlikely to ever be a long term major story. I think it also may remind women to check and if they do find something suspicious to get it seen to asap as you do find out the results very quickly. |

When I had a lump in my breast I went to my GP and they referred me to the hospital for tests. When I got home from the GP there was a message on my answer phone from the hospital with a date for the tests which was two days later - it was just a few of days before Christmas and they said they didnt want me worrying over the holidays. They did a mammogram and an scan, then a fine needle aspiration. They weren't totally sure so wanted a cone biopsy which was done the same day. I didn't get the results of that until after Christmas so that was a bit of a downer but the results, which were good, came back before New Year. I don't know if my hospital is the exception but I didn't think Maria's case was much different to mine.
