I really like the storyline, that is the first time I've said that about one Maria is involved in. She has great chemistry with the guy playing Marcus, not sure if it's platonic or sexual but they work well together so far.

Am I the only one who watched thinking "wow.. This is incredibly boring"?

I love it, it's never been done before, and I am keen to see how it plays out....

This is most definitely to my disappointment in the way the storyline has so far mapped out.

Interestingly enough (and I don't know if anybody else sensed this at the time), but I could see a lot of natural chemistry between Marcus and Maria prior to her getting it together with Jason.

I think that's one of the big things that bothers me about this because Jason's done nothing wrong in my book.

I didn't watch the 8:30 ep last night, but I'm wondering whether Kirk being Maria's brother was informed at all about this?

The guy who played Marcus is gay. He said that if it was "Marcus changed his sexuality" or "Marcus was bi and was with girls before Sean" he wouldn't have done it, and I trust him. He knows what it's like to fight for acceptance and equality: he's not going to do anything that he disagrees with. Besides, it does happen: David Norris, the openly gay politician in Ireland, who fought all the way to the European high courts to have homosexuality decriminalised, went through a period of two years where his companion was a woman. They weren't sexually together, but they were in a solid relationship because they were two adults who fell in love with the other's personality.

I really like this SL and looking forward to it's unfolding.I'm of the mind that we're all somewhere on the sexual preference spectrum and that he could be bi.I hope she does get pregnant because then he would get the child he so wanted.

She has been on the sidelines in Corrie but I think Maria's scenes with Jason have shown him to be a total plank. Maria is far, far better than Jason. He's a deadwood character.

I don`t know what the probelm is in marcus fancying maria. Its ok for a straight guy to turn gay but not the other way round. i think they make a great couple.

Exactly. They've rushed it and in doing so made it look like one snog from Maria has turned him. It's badly done and embarrassing.


Usually people are gay it's just pressures of society that make them 'conform' and act heterosexual. This story line is a little different as Marcus is happily gay but falls for his best friend who happens to be female. The idea is very interesting but as I've already suggested I'm finding it badly done.
