exactly! Shes not the only person with this background in this series or in past series.

I enjoyed the performance. Good to see the judges, being fair anyway.

Well, thank goodness there was someone there tonight who can dance a bit . I don't doubt the voters will do away with her 'before her time', but crikey, if they all were starting from scratch, we'd have a few cringe weeks to get through before we saw some decent dancing.

That a contestant has had a lot of previous dance experience can be off-putting especially when they try to play it down. It's not a coincidence Denise's Waltz was the best dance of the night.

The likes of Colin and Victoria intrigue and excite me more. They have a long way to go but they showed potential, especially Colin.

Kimberley's another I might bore of quicky if she's really, really good right from the start.

I agree completely, but we need some decent dancers early on. As someone has said already, the others will catch up and hopefully overtake the more experienced performers.

I am enjoying the relationship between Denise and James. The joking between them is great.

I liked their waltz, but I expected them to be good as James is great at teaching the ballroom. I think she may well struggle with the latin. BTW I loved Colin and could get used to watching him. Just as well I have the programme sky+!!!!

DVT?? Do she look good in compression stockings then?

Well exactly. People are getting awfully upset about something that isn't new on the show. I sense that a personal dislike for Denise herself is as much apart of the complaint as the dancing aspect, apologies if I'm wrong.

The plus side for people that don't like her is that she's partnered with James, need I say more.

I thought they made a great pair. Had fun in training, but brought it to the dance floor. She's no different now than when she was on the Big Breakfast years ago.

Is it heck. It's a scripted, edited, agenda driven reality TV series, lol. What you see is, at the very least, out of context, and most definitely scripted to a pre-planned narrative. What you see is part what they want you to see, and part your interpretation.

You don't learn anything meaningful about someones personality from reality TV.

I don't know. I saw Cheryl Baker on celebrity road trip once.

There's little mention of Kimberly because she hasn't spent the last six weeks banging on and on and on and on about how she isn't at an advantage. Van Outen's just brought that attention on herself

Because she's not a passive and simpering woman? The non threatening, 'cute', 'ditzy', woman seem to go down well here, every other female garners a sh1tstorm of bitchiness within these forums. With endless unflattering comments regarding the way she looks, to a wide range of silly accusations based on nothing.

I found the bombardment by the editors of all her 'funny' faces mildly silly, and trying a bit too hard. But, it's the editors stitching it together. I have no feelings for her either way to be honest.

But what I saw was someone who had some dodgy editing in their VT. Someone who did the best dance of that show. And someone who openly showed she was disappointed when receiving criticism, as opposed to the 'I will take on board the judges comments' BS.

I'm not convinced that's it.

I don't find Jerry passive and simpering but I'm totally in love with her!

Exactly Denise is just in it for attention not to learn dance.

Harsh. I believe you can learn a great deal about their personalities. I was desperately hoping what happened to Victoria tonight wouldn't happen but my worst fears came true.

DVT is a ringer. If there's no dancing in Chicago then maybe she is right, but from my memory there was just a tad.

She's also bloody annoying. Her ladette days are long behind her but she doesn't seem to get she is a 38 year old woman.

So do I. And a trained stage dancer does not automatically make a good ballroom dancer - as I have said many times, there are fundamental differences between the two styles, not just in the steps but in the whole approach and philosophy. Strictly speaking, ballroom dancing does not belong in the world of show business at all, being a combination of a do-it-yourself hobby and a competitive sport. That is why the original Come Dancing failed, and this present version is planned and controlled by stage people (in fact it should be called Strictly Stage Dancing).

Incidentally, if Tess is ever replaced, which I admit is unlikely, I would favour Denise for the job. I always feel that Tess is putting on an act, whereas Denise would be nore genuine and natural.

Exactly. Of course the members on here will deny it to the hilt and go "But I like this person"...

Denise has only mentioned it because she was singled out for it.

If Kimberly had been attacked in the press for it then I'm sure she would have mentioned it.

I like Denise and don't find her fake, nor do I care what dance experience she has had before SCD. She is used to live TV and performing so I certainly will not hold her confidence against her. I just wish she wouldn't pull so many silly faces.

I'm only judging on tonight, but I think that the disparity between the haves and have nots is going to be quite large this series. I can see Louis Smith being the only male contender & I haven't even seen him dance yet.

Hope I am wrong.

Oh, just to add DVO, no professional training? I'll take my hat off to that bullshit, maybe Joseph could take his Dreamcoat off too.

I really like Denise and I am very much looking forward to seeing her dance again. I don't think she is fake at all - far from it!

I enjoyed her performance. She may have some advantage but so have many previous celebs. She did look shocked when her footwork was criticised as a previous poster has said.

I agree with you 100%

What I love about Denise, when she got married, she freely gave the pictures out to the press. Didn't do exclusives which a lot of the stars use to fund their wedding.

I just think she is a very talented all rounder.
I mean a lot of these celebs are, they sing, dance act so going by that, an awful lot would be excluded if that's the case.
