The height difference between Colin and Kristina completely ruined the performance

BBC have really messed it up IMO. I assume they thought he was not gonna be as good as he was tonight. It looked completely uncomfortable. Anyone else think this. They need to sort this issue out quickly cause otherwise he has no chance of winning.

I don't agree, at least not on their performance tonight. Height difference isn't such a big issue in latin as it is in ballroom so I will reserve judgement until after I have seen them do their waltz.

That said, I really wish Natalie had got Colin. He looks to have much more potential than Michael and I don't want Natalie to go out early again, she's such a fantastic dancer

Nope. Admittedly I know na-thing, but I thought they looked great together and had the most infectious joyous energy. Loved them.

How can they do the Waltz etc. Poor Kristina will be on her toes like Rose from the Titanic.

LOL sorry but I just cannot vision this working.

Colin's a good 6ft4/6ft5, and having seen him in the flesh, he is massively tall. There are no female pros who would be any better for him.

Early doors, but I thought he was very very good tonight. He and Denise were the highlights of an otherwise terrible show.

Dont agree at all. I thought he looked great and what a good job he did!

I think it was deliberate choice to match them to produce a 'novelty' couple that would get people talking - like we are doing.

I loved watching them and I loved his hip action!! I am looking forward to their waltz next week!

It's not the novelty, well not here it isn't, more the many many feet of cool sexiness, languour, dash, presence, deep rumbling voice and stuff like that

For me the partnership works because of the connection between them. They're great together and made it so you could just relax and feel it. Plus for a seven-footer he is very quick and manoeuverable

Tracyanneday, please don't mention hips

Have to agree. You can see Colin will be a good dancer but such a mismatch in height made for uncomfortable viewing .
He should have been with the tallest girl Natalie but the silly producers wanted the stupid Australia vs England thing with Michael Vaughan, which no one gives a fig about.

BIB - absolutely! He is smooth personified. I didn't even think about the height difference when they were dancing - they didn't make an issue of it and it didn't become an issue.

They are both good as individuals and they do get along well.

However they are basically handicapped by the height difference. Their dancing will always be modified to try to compensate without ever completely succeeding.

The height difference didn't even cross my mind when they were on the dance floor. Kristina knows it is her who has to compensate for the height difference and I thought they were great together.

but if he gets toldoff for sticking out his bum I will be really cross

Karen,Erin, Natalie and Aliona are taller than Kristina and would have done better

bless her she will have to dance on stilts and develop very strong shoulder muscles to constantly dance with her hands above shoulder height

She'll be straining herself in hold for sure and I so agree about his bum sticking out. Bet she has to wear the highest heels available for the Ballroom dances!

I thought Kristina and Colin were the best dancing couple and managed their height difference well, so nothing was ruined for me.
Of course it would be easier for them both if they were closer in height but they're doing their best, and clearly not going to let the contrast get in the way of working hard together. The Ballroom might be harder just because of the constant hold but, we'll have to wait and see.

I feared the worst but was very pleasantly surprised. I didn't think the height diffrence was much of an issue with this dance.

Having said that, I think it'll be much more of a probem when it comes to the ballroom and especially when in hold.

Natalie is tall and I think Erin is quite tall too

He was my favourite tonight & I didn't really notice the height difference. The big test in that regard will be their ballroom though.

I thought they did a great job. Colin is definitely my male favourite so far! He brings real personality to the dance and he clearly loved it!

As said, not a problem for me last night but obviously ballroom will be a bigger challenge. Jury's out on that one.
