Where they would normally dance in a straight line, Kristina had Colin walk round the outside of a circle, so that made the dance look different from a normal CCC.

When Colin was taking a pose and supporting Kristina's dancing, Kristina sometimes had him take a very wide stance, which is good in height terms, but again looks different to how the male partner usually looks, and it prevents him from being able to do steps compared to a man who has his feet together.

I'm sure Kristina could do better choreography if Colin was 7" shorter and Colin's dancing would look a lot better if Kristina was 7" taller.

IMO the producers have reduced what both of them can do, but they are doing their absolute best to minimise the damage.

I think they are both doing a very good job and I commend them for just getting on with it and making the best of it. It helps that personality wise, they work well as a pair.

Full credit to them but I'm not impressed by the producers pairing them.

Never even noticed the height difference because he isn't at all static so not 'tree like'. Ballroom will be more of a challenge but Kristina is a genius & will work it out.

I don't think it mattered at all last night but in Ballroom it could be an issue. I'm actually quite angry with the producers for pairing him with Kristina, but only for the height difference as she won me over last year with her choreography. He could be a contender and if the height difference cocks it up it will be so unfair on him

OP - I think it is a bit OTT to say that the performance last night was completely ruined by the height difference.

Okay, there may be problems to come with the ballroom but last night they were great. My elderly mum thought that this was the best of the night, and I can't say I disagree with her.

Some of the other dances were pretty dire, though.

I absolutely LOVED Colin and Kristina's performance. I didn't even think of the height difference.

I agree. Watching them a second time they look good together.
I think Kristina will have a far more difficult job in the ballroom dances when they are in hold to minimise the height difference.

For me what ruined the performance was his massive mud-flap feet and the fact that his hips didn't move once lol. But I was really surprised that they paired such a tall guy with Kristina. Isn't Natalie the tallest female pro? Why not pair him with her?

Personally I would have put Kristina with Nicky and Natalie with Colin but Kristina and Colin did well last night but as others have said the test will be ballroom.

Colin has been great, with such a height difference he has coped amazingly well, the judges didn't give Colin and Kristina enough credit for the obstacles that they have managed to overcome.

the height difference was very noticeable in their foxtrot and with Kristina in her pink dress - looked like a father dancing with his daughter

It was impossible for me to look at pair and disregard the fact that Colin was looming over Kristina. Even if, in the dance world, height differences are disregarded(I have no idea), the whole thing just looked awkward to me. Not surprised they went when the other pair improved.

I think the height difference meant Colin went out a lot earlier than he had the potential to go. He always was limited with what he and Kristina could do due to the height difference and what they did do always looked a little awkward.

Have to agree with you.

I am very Colin is gone.. .

Perhaps the producers should consider reinstating Ian Waite and Matthew Cutler and find some tall female dancers. Anton wasn't tall enough for Jerry and Kristina certainly wasn't tall enough for Colin.

I expected to see her standing on his feet!

I agree that Colin went out too soon, but I don't think he was as good as he thought he was.

They looked particularly ill-matched on Saturday. It looked plain odd. Didn't think it worked at all.

Agree completely - Colin looked like he was dancing with a child from certain views.

They could have matched the heights better
